Going for max after 4 sets is harder than it sounds I'd say. After my pushups last night I headed to the bench press as was my night for Chest/back and let's just say my 1st set was pretty pathetic.

Stay with it. The soreness will work it's way out by the end of the 2nd week. Great job!

Ditto!!  You're absolutely right about the max being harder than it looks.  I look at that number and think "aaaaah, no prob!"  YEAH RIGHT!  But it's already paying off so no slacking here ~ maybe just a little whine every now and then!

Finished week 3 tonight. Right wrist/forearm has been sore all week so glad I'm off from the weights and pushups until Sunday when I'll start week 4.

I did my initial test this morning. I had a max of 25. I'll start the program next Monday. Maybe my son will do it with me.

YYEEAAHH, week 1 complete!  I didn't have the sheet in front of me today so I actually did a few extra than what was called for.

8/10/8/8/10 = 44

I feel like such a girl ~ Hey! Wait! I AM a girl!   Do I get brownie points for doing military style push ups?!

You'll do fine. Make sure you take enough rest between sets and push through the 4th and 5th ones. That'll make the 100 at the end "easy".

I did as much as I could of my assigned pushups, but I could not complete any day except for the first.

I feel like a whimpy little girl!

Just think....in a few weeks none of us will feel like whimpy little girls anymore!

Week 4, day 2.   25,29,25,25(ugly set but made it), final set max 19.   Going to have to try this one again on Monday as I didn't get enough reps in the max set.   I'm starting to think the week 3-6 ramp up schedule is pretty aggressive and will be interested to see how progress goes, but I'll keep at it until I hit the 100 success.   Maybe just the starting test makes it too easy to skip the initial weeks?   I also just re-read the plan and see that it shows a rest of 90 seconds or longer between sets.  I was at doing them 60 seconds, I didn't see that each day had a different rest interval (60,90,120).  Not sure how much that will help but will follow it on the next workout.
