darnit, I had 2 timbits today. Blasted. I forgot. Bad me. I did the thing I usually do, I thought, "oh well, going for a run in an hour, I will need the energy." Got to get out of that thought process.

Great to hear about everyone's successes so far :=).

What's working for me.. Logging my meals.

Makes me think about every bite I eat.

Abbie, can we also offer up some mini challenges?

Yep, anyone can throw out a challenge!!!  This is a GROUP effort!!!  I would suggest throwing them out early in the day since we are all on different time zones.

I'm about 60oz into my 75oz for the day... (which, actually, is fairly typical for me) ... I have to get it done really early or else I spend my night trekking back and forth to the bathroom to pee...

I am so glad there is not a Tim Hortons near me. I heart Tim.

I find the mindless eating the worst.  So started off with a homemade clean zucchini coconut muffin with some natural peanut butter and a greek yogurt and then while driving my kid is complaining that she is full and doesn't want the rest of her breakfast and she's trying to open her juice so being the multi-tasking supermom that I am!! While driving I open the juice and wolf down the rest of her egg sandwich.  Whoops!  How many calories was that???

I heard that you are supposed to only drink when you are thirsty.  I usually start the morning with a couple of glasses.  I need to drink 9 glasses today and am down 2 - 7 more to go!  Thing is... at work the washroom is soooo far away and I have to pass practically everyone in the company to get there!

Think about all the extra walking you are getting in!  Have fun with it!  If you have a smartphone, download Strava and see what kind of distance you log between your desk and the bathroom!  (Note, that I Strava'd my walk through a corn maze this weekend, lol)

Goal:  185lbs (lofty for this tiem period but this is my ideal weight that I intend to find) and able to run (not just jog) so I can begin training for another marathon

Nutrition Plan:  Cut the crap and beer.  Basically stick to whole foods.

Action Plan:  Run five days/week, strength train 3 days/week, bike commute 3 days/week - Record daily musings and photos in my log, runs on Strava so I push myself to get better, and food consumed on my Lose It app.  I will also do Yoga at least 3 days/week.

I can relate.

I'm around 70 ozs in and heading out for a long bike ride.  No problem!

Lunch here was a bowl of oatmeal with pumpkin, pecans, cinnamon protein powder & almond milk.  Yummy!

Here goes.

Name Simon.

Starting point 210lb

Goal 175lb

Training S/B/R. Training for 70.3 next june. So hoping to build a solid base over the winter.

Story Started running several years back to lose weight. I've completed 5 stand alone marathons and completed 1 ironman. I started running as a way of losing weight but always seem to get into a routine of thinking that i have done the work so i can eat what i like. My weight has been the same for the last couple of years and in july when i was entering the last 30 mile of the bike in ironman uk i new my weight was holding me back.

I will be doing any challenges the day after due to the time difference. For example it's 18;45 in the uk so would not be possible to drink the amount of water over the next couple of hours

Pictures, as promised

mid-2012

Mid-2012

Early 2011

Early 2009 After losing 20 pounds through a Biggest Loser program.

In mid-October 2009 I weighed in at 175!  My grandson was to be born in about a month and I realized that I would not be able to keep up with him like I wanted to.  Started half-heartedly on a weight loss program.  Fast forward to October 2011 and I had surgery on my knee, followed doctor's orders and have been running since early December with no more problems!  Lost quite a bit of my weight early this year due to some family stress but now I'm needing to work on my core and maintaining (if not losing another 5-10) my weight.

Water challenge done! I don't usually count as I go through the day, but now that I did count, it seems that I probably drink that much every day. Good to know! (I gave up diet Pepsi sometime this summer - still drink a cup of coffee in the morning, but the rest of the day = water.)

I'm in!  I think this sort of focus with flexibility is exactly what I need right now. Thanks for doing this, Abbie! 40 ounces so far today, and realizing how much I've been slacking on hydration lately.

Name: Roni

Basics: Married with 22 and 24 year old daughters and a 19 month old grandson. Our 22 year old and Grandson have recently moved back in with us. I started doing triathlons and running in 2007 after losing about 55lbs, and have gained back all but 10 of those pounds, slowly, over the last 3 years. I am determined to get back to my goal weight before Portland REV3 next July.

Activity: I have been on the ultra running/triathlete to couch potato plan lately, so I am going to start back slow. s/b/r with lots of walking and hiking mixed in for the cardio. Strength training will include power yoga and strength focused classes at the gym.

Nutrition: I will focus on whole foods and portion control. I am quite capable of overeating on the healthiest of eating plans, so I know from past experience this is something I really have to keep in check.

This is the weight I'm getting back to:

This is where I currently am:

Basics: 33, married, 10 month old twin boys, 1 cat,
1 dog, 2 jobs, full-time student......

Current: 222

Goal: 190

Training: S/B/R, strength training and chasing
babies

Story: My wife and I lost weight together while
training for triathlons 2 years ago. The day after we got married, she got
pregnant with the boys. Not having any idea how much this would cost we
eliminated all non-essential spending, including gym memberships. I slowly
stopped working out and returned to my old ways of eating. As of last summer I
was back up to 260 lbs. I started to exercise again and eat a little better and
got down to 245. I did a Whole 30 Challenge and lost 23 lbs. Since the
challenge ended I have been struggling with nutrition. With a trip to Jamaica
in mid-January, I need to shed some more pounds. I look forward to some
accountability.

This is me about 7 months ago when I got my first tri-wetsuit. Gonna take some decent ones in the near future and will post.

I am about 5 pounds within this weight. Hoping to shed 10 or a few more before my next event in the spring. Overall though, I'd like to maximize my nutrition and have steady healthy habits.

This is me about 7 months ago when I got my first tri-wetsuit.

A gorgeous woman in a wet suit... amazing sight to behold!!!

I didn't catch the challenge until late today.  I'm on a 24 hour shift.  I normally allow myself to get mildly dehydrated during these shifts just so I don't go to the bathroom.  I know it's not good for me, but it's a habit I've developed thanks to the nature of being in the military.
I would have had to drink about 120 ounces through out the day.  I'm at maybe 64.  :-(

All in all, today is NOT a good day for having a fat loss goal.  Stress is kicking me square in the... uh... it's getting to me.
