Random things I've been meaning to tell you all about...

1) I bought a French Press. Yay. DS2 talked me in to it. Haven't tried it yet. I am researching the "perfect" method.

2) A barista at Sbux told me that they (the baristas) can no longer have visible tattoos, face piercings or un-naturally colored hair. This surprises me coming from Sbux

3) Last weekend on my way to Denver I read a blog that reviewed a product called FlapJacked. They are a Boulder-based small company that make a protein infused pancake mix. Based on the info from the blog I'd intended to go to the King Soopers (Colorado's Kroger) because they supposedly carried it. Well lo and behold the owners had a booth at the RnR Denver expo!!! So I bought one of each of the three flavors. I tried the regular buttermilk this morning and liked it. I'm pretty excited about this because I like the ease and convenience of pancakes but had wished they had more protein. Whalla!!!! The owner said the grocery stores carry the smaller package so I'll probably order them direct from the company. (Oh, and Chris, they have a recipe for making a PB pancake from their Buttermilk mix)

1) Make sure you use a different grind for your beans than for drip.  You want a course grind, but that also means you need to let it steep longer (about 5 minutes).

2) Lame.  Coffee shops should have a diverse mix of people.  I like visible tattoos! and un-naturally colored hair!  I'm neutral on face piercings.

3) Sounds cool!

Well, you may be biased, but he also looks damn good :)

Hmm.  Maybe I've just been seeing the wrong fedora wearers???

TJ, the french press makes great coffee but for a cup at a time, I am a big fan of the Melita.  Cheap, easy, portable, make exactly the right amount of coffee at the right strength and the water stays hot.

Awesome Chris!  Thanks!

They're both doing great :)

Everytime I follow someone doing a full, I can't help but think about how lazy I've been all day while the athlets have been busting tail the whole time.  Wow.

Go CHICAS!

Found it! Trying to find the new thread from my phone proved to be a little difficult.

I was able to access the tracker for Jayne and Monica. I wonder why they don't post more detailed splits

If NCTri series is much like the VTS, they don't have a lot of splits midway.  Setup keeps costs down with having fewer timing matts I think......

Near the end of one of my long runs, I noticed my left hip aching. There was a slight pop with each step. The hip was sore for 2 days after the run.
