Expert 941 WA | Subject: RE: Turkey Terrors! hi guys!! i'm back from traveling. i had planned to run in the hotel gym, but after 2 miles i stopped because it was like a sauna in there, and i couldn't take it anymore. then, i proceeded to meet up with friends from high school that i hadn't seen in years for 2 nights in a row and hang out until 3 am two nights in a row (on the 2nd night - 4 pints of smithwicks baby, yeah! but hardly any buzz...i'm expensive). today, i went for a bike ride. that puts me at 1 out of 2 for the month! i'm going to go for a little run too, to try and get caught up from my sauna treadmill experience. i'll log it when i come back! |

Member 28 Newport News, VA | Subject: RE: Turkey Terrors! Checking in before I fly out tomorrow: 10.42 miles this week. I HAVE been doing my stretching... sometimes more than 10min/day. 0.5 pounds down. ...ugh. I'm aiming for at least 4 miles running this week while I'm out. Considering I won't get to my hotel until about 9pm every night, and knowing the knee will be swollen from at least 3 hours of driving every day, I'm being realistic about what I can do next week. That leaves a longer run, and pool time when I get back. The week after starts the gym and spinning classes. |

Member 28 Newport News, VA | Subject: RE: Turkey Terrors! Hey team... I have to ask everyone I meet because it's such a good cause... I've joined up with the Challenged Athlete's Foundation for Operation Rebound. This is in conjunction with my half ironman in May. I'm raising money to help those injured military service members who were athletes before, or are interested in becoming athletes. Unfortunately, these brave people were injured and have lost limbs during their service in Iraq or Afganistan. CAF provides prosthetics and assistance to these athletes which would otherwise be financially unattainable for the sport specific needs they require. It's great becuase 90% of the funds raise go directly to the athletes. Compare that to most "charitable" organizations, and you'll find that is a very low operating budget. That's important to me. AND... your donation is tax deductible. So please, as the holiday's approach, please keep these fellow athletes in your mind and hearts. If you would be so generous to contribute to my fundraising efforts, I would be forever grateful. I know how much triathlon has changed, and IS changing my life... I don't want anyone to not be able to experince life without the same opportunity. Thanks for taking the time to read...! http://raceforareason08.kintera.org/mindyshelpthebrave |

Extreme Veteran 541 Virginny | Subject: RE: Turkey Terrors! nccgrap- You got me right on the spreadsheet. Looks great! We have some ambitious turkeys on our team. everyone- don't forget that our 1st week was long and our last week is short. by the end of this week, we should be at 60% of our goals! holy cow! In order to have met 60% of my goals, I still need to do: **3 runs, 2x 4.4 miles and 1x 3 miles **2 swims 1600 yds ea. **2 more weight sessions 27 min ea. Good luck getting your workouts in, turkey terrors. Especially those of you traveling and whatnot! -Rebecca |

Elite 3022 Preferably on my bike somewhere | Subject: RE: Turkey Terrors! Okay - I was supposed to run 60min today, but only got 45 on account of them taking place on a beach. It was the best I could do given my schedule today. I tired pretty quickly on the sand. I was able to OWS though, so that was good. I felt REALLY comfortable in the water. Not like the first few times where I couldn't get a rhythm or breathing pattern to save my life. Anyhow - I'm a little behing the 8 ball this week. I'll catch up - it's only 15 minutes. |

Agreed! We are a little over a third through the month, so we're a little behind but not too bad. How's everyone's week going so far? Personally, I haven't been running or doing much since my race on Saturday. I did a run on Monday. I have another one tonight, tomorrow, and Saturday. |

Master 2051 Portland, OR | Subject: RE: Turkey Terrors! This week still has a lot of run, bike and weight training time for me. I have an hour cycling class tonight and a 9 mile run on Sunday. I'll be over my hours for the run for sure, and probably on the weight training as well. Bike should be right on the money though. My % are low now because I'm building my mileage each week and haven't gotten any super long runs in. (Only one 8 miler that took 1.5 hours.) |

I guess it will get added on to next weeks spreadsheet (not sure how all of that works - this is my first challenge). Anyway, we turkeys need to get a flappin and fly up to the top of the rankings. Gobble gobble. |
