Dirty Harry has my vote!

Yanti,

I can't find your original post for virtual pacers.  I will be your virtual pacer wherever you want.  We can hold each other up cause my half marathon is that weekend.  Put me for as many miles as you want too.

I have decided to drop from the Intermediate 1 plan (5 days running a week) to Novice 2 (4 days running a week).  If this doesn't help I will have to switch to the half marathon.  I am completely exhausted both physically and mentally.

My massage tonight was FANTASTIC.  This 5' nothing little Chinese girl has magic hands and THE TOUCH.  My legs feel a lot better after the massage.  Booked another for my next drop back week.

Hopefully that works out better for you. No fun feeling that way... for even a few days let alone all the time :/ A good massage does wonders for the soul and soles!

OK, a few things and then I'm outta here to get my bike looked at. I think my BB might have another crack in it. I picked a good day to play hooky from work.

1) Adrienne - Do you have a family doctor or someone that you see with any regularity? Establishing a relationship with a doc is one of the things that has helped us get through a major health challenge in our past. Not to get into it too much, but about 22 years ago we went through a long scare that we were completely in the dark about what was going on. Our family doc did a BUNCH of research and pointed us in the right direction. If not for him, we wouldn't have gotten to the specialists that we needed. So, my input is that s medical professional that you are comfortable with is the first step. Once you are comfortable, you will be more apt to listen to him/her about the other stuff. Good Luck.

2) Kate - I truly hope that your whole family is healing and moving in the right direction. I think often of you and yours.

3) TJ - Take care of your teeth, that just sux.

I have a doctor that I go to if I am REALLY not well but that happens like once every 3 years, maybe? It's hard to build any kind of relationship with that infrequency. And then, honestly, I want someone who knows at least a little about endurance athletes. I just don't see how anyone has the time to "shop around" and additionally establish a relationship. Ya know?

I don't often get all parental on you, but here it comes. You have time to run your fool azz off for hours on end. You have time to spend with your family and friends that you love.  Make a little time to take care of yourself.  Ask your friends, talk to people in line at races, you'll be surprised what you find.  I found out our current doc is a runner when I ran into him at the Y on the tready. You never know, it may not be that hard to find one, but if you don't ask...

Selfishly, I'd like you to be around for a good long time!

I stumbled across my doctor randomly - closest one to home and how pleased was i when he said he was a cyclist - and he said, Jo you can do an IM you won't die.  Get on and do it.  Just be careful on the roads.

For a second there i  thought I missed an important post! Then I read the suggested names and figured you were either following the celebrity crazy name route or you had a bike to name.

Dirty Harry seems pretty appropriate for a mountain bike.  Just for random piece of information, the Seals  code named Osama Bin Laden Geronimo during their operation to kill him. So, if you start yelling that you may have the NSA following you and tapping into your phone -even more than they already are

This spa is incredible.  I love going there.  They bought an old building in the heart of Petersburg and renovated it.  Simply gorgeous.  You feel peaceful from the moment you walk in and everyone I've ever had contact with there has been top notch.

The rest of the street around the salon is pretty run down and  depressing---little by little the shops around them are refurbishing to their old charm and beauty.  Southern style charm at it's best.

It's quite impressive. They were working very hard. Of course, I was only delegated the minor tasks so I just took lots of pictures Smile

So cool!

The delegating, I mean

I know what it's like to print one shirt ... the Indonesia shirt I'm wearing on the IMJ run. It's not too far above writing CANADA on the front with a Sharpie.

Motivation to go run is seriously waning at the moment...

I dreamt that I was in Illinois not too far from Chicago and my continuing desperate thought was I HAD to get in touch with you so we could get together!

Good morning, afternoon, or evening. Or Midnight, depending on your time zone. I hope everyone is good and ready for this weekend. Mine will be filled with work, which is why I took yesterday off and rode with the Big Dogs. Good times.

Every Friday one of the bank presidents that I work with sends out a message to his staff, and it is worth sharing with this group for sure: "We are limited by our attitudes. Not our abilities."

Pretty thought provoking for me. Enjoy your day, make it a joy!

Is the listing posted in CoJ or something?  Or is it still a Super Secret Order of the Manatees thing at the moment?

This is supposed to be FUN, not drudgery!  Change the plan and give it a whirl.  Or change the the half and do Myrtle Beach or Shamrock full in the spring.  Or change to the half and do MB or Shamrock half in the spring!

Hey Pod... question for you. When I met Salty we were talking about SBUX, and I asked why they didn't have recycling in their stores. She seemed surprised by this, and we concluded it might be a behind-the-times Midwestern thing. I frequent five SBUX in Iowa and Nebraska and non of them have consumer recycling on site. So, if you SBUX, does yours recycle?

Well, they sort of do here but it seems really half hearted.  They have a barrel but the labels are not clear.  We are used to sorting our stuff here (a la Whole Foods) and the Starbucks version is... odd.

Morning Manatees!

Just ran 2 on the TM this am - I have a 10K coming up on Sunday - which is a big deal for me because I'm just really starting to run after an injury. I had 2 things going on - a stress fracture and posterior tibial tendonitis which took longer to diagnose but now I'm on the right track (just in time for fall )

Anybody racing this weekend?

Anywho - have a great day - and since we are sharing videos, someone sent this to me - you'll love it if you are a Strava user
