Thanks for all the shorts input.  I've looked at most of the sites you guys suggested, and I think I'll be going up to Phoenix to try on a few brands today- then I'll see if they have them online. I always feel horrible doing that, but...

Speaking of pups, here's our new foster. He's a Chi/Italian Greyhound mix named Buttons (not a big fan of the name...hard to shorten it lol). He was snuggling after his bath.

I realized that I end up having most of my questions on the weekends, usually the time I can relax stateside, now just seems to be another day.

I am debating about reducing my training load to try and help get more workouts in. Right now I can hit my run days and "morning" workout but body starts feeling awful by training weeks end. I am thinking of reducing my pace workouts and intensity for about 2 weeks to help get more work outs in. Think that would be a decent idea or should I adjust my mileage also? Thinking normal run days but more specific z2 instead of 2 days at z4.

Opinions welcome and needed.

What a cutie!  You could call him Bob for short, although he really looks more like a Jimmy.  Any word on the pup that went to Alaska or do you ever get to hear about what new homes they end up in?

Don't feel bad about trying on shorts then buying them online, especially if you go to a chain-type (ha ha) shop like Performance or a bigger local shop.  It's not like you're trying out bikes or some larger purchase.

Ha! Bob   For some reason Buttons just doesn't roll off the tongue when I call him. Maybe if I say it with an accent and basically drop the Ts...Bu'ens. Darren? Any help here?

Rescue Lady told me Max found a happy home in Alaska. Yay!

I know I shouldn't feel bad...

Jonathan TN,

I am no help with your question but I wanted to say that I was in Wrightsville Beach today and I was thinking about you and how you really should consider the Wilmington YMCA Sprint Triathlon on September 27th if you can.  The transition area is the same as T1 for B2B and most of the swim is the same.

The timing between the Wilmington Sprint and B2B does kind of suck though, at only four weeks.

I would consider it, but planning to volunteer for IM Choo so I can register for IM Choo 2015. I am also not 100% sure I will be back in time to allow me to volunteer. We have classes for when we get back that we have to attend. The classes are 5-7 days and mandatory.

Thanks everyone!  Tough swim, windy bike, but I am pretty happy with my results, especially the bike.  I was only 3min slower on the bike than my guy training partner .  All his pushing me is paying off!  I'll get a RR up in the next few days.  I hope all the other racers/eventers had a great time.

CONGRATULATIONS CHAERSTAINNH!!!

This is one of my favorite triathlon pictures of all time ... Chris Lieto and Crowie KILLED each other, both trying to win Boise 70.3. Crowie won by seconds but both collapsed on each other in a heap at the finish line, unable to move for a while. Both said it was one of the toughest races of their careers.

You just did this. You are a badazz.

I know weekends are dead but if any of you have a minute and some pointers for Roro (or just observations, she's a very smart cookie and knows how to stalk me too for suggestions) here's the swim vid thread she posted in Tri Talk.

http://www.beginnertriathlete.com/discussion/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=517783&posts=1&page=1

I killed the last swim video thread. I suppose I should resurrect it. But I'm seriously behind on swim video analysis for the people I myself actually work with here! shyte

Find a mentor. Make a list of at least three people that you could approach for help, list your specific needs and then be courageous enough to begin asking.
