Does she do this in person too.....or just on FB? I've got some very 'ranty' FB peeps but they're totally different in person. If she's only like that on FB, I'd just block/ignore her posts from your feed and carry on the friendship.

i think i'm not invested in the friendship enough to know.  haha.

also - in "i'm also a terrible human" news - i am SO GLAD to be in germany today and not have to spend all day reminiscing about where i was on 9/11.  i'm soooo tired of that conversation.  if you weren't at ground zero, your story is probably not that good.  changing your FB banner does nothing.  but i feel like i'm the only amurrican that feels this way.

Please know I was not bagging on folks with little or no education. My father only has a high school degree yet started, owned and ran a successful company for 20 years. Trust me I know education is not the measuring stick.

EDIT: But I do want to add that being an independent person in terms of educating yourself, gaining experience, networking, etc. and not relying on anyone else to do that FOR YOU - can set you up for successes down the road. Can we all agree on that? I think that was my original thought process.

Sorry for the delay Lisa.  I am working too many hours and forgot that I even posted in here.  I think an education is a very good thing and for many people it is a great thing.  I have taken many hours of classes for my job(s), to continue to learn, but I could care less about someone having only a high school education or a Masters or Doctorate.  I have worked with all of them and the ones that do the work that help the most people in the jobs being done are the ones I use.  My father was a President of a state university and travelled to different parts of the world working on improving education everywhere with his Doctorate, but never pushed that towards anyone that I ever met when the two of us were around.  But, I met others that pushed that fact at me, and they were the ones that seemed to be the least productive.

I was not trying to put down education at all and that is how it came across.  Sorry about that.

Ahh well in the spirit of semi-seriousness...

Why is it Guacamole only comes in gigantic containers at the store? That stuff always turns brown before I can eat it all... unless I wanted to consume like 5,000 calories at one sitting...

    Last comment I promise.
I also believe education does not only come in the form of a degree. Mentoring, workshops, seminars, conferences, books, webinars, interwebs - so much information out there of course going to a college is not the only way.

I apologize if  folks took my comment that my friend "had no education" meant an assumption that I was talking about a masters degree or something. I wasn't. I'm talking about the person who is simply not growing or furthering themselves in any way. Which, of course, is totally cool and seems to be working out in her favor. (politically correct enough? )

    OUT!

Hi TAN - there needs to be much, much more coffee in the world today.

Actually, I wish I could just sit at my desk and someone would come around and re-fill my cup for me so that I didn't have to actually get up, walk all the way to the break room (which is around the corner) and make my own.  The coffee deliciousness is SOOOOO far away!!

I agree.  I'm drinking my homebrewed Starbucks at the moment.  They really do a pretty good job.  BUT I need a refill.

My night was full of nightmares.  Work stress and too much confrontation in my life leads to confrontational dreams, which wake me with anxiety.

BTW, tell the little guy congrats on the WSJ gig.  Hope he kills it.

That stuff is terrible.  I'm also not a fan of the powdered stuff you add to smashed avocado.  The best is just everything from scratch.

I like just smashing an avocado, a garlic clove, some diced tomato, lime juice and salt.

But I have the darndest time finding ripe avocados.

I like to just add some green salsa to an avocado to make quick guacamole.

Finding ripe ones is always the trick, even in an area with a couple local avocado farms.  If you don't mind waiting a day putting them into a paper bag with a banana will ripen them overnight.

You can food process the avacado then stir in some salsa and chopped onion.  Dash of lime juice and salt.

It's been a rainy couple weeks here.  Sort of like it.  Cools it down some but not a fan of the humidity it brings.

However, it's supposed to be back in the 100's and sunny this weekend.  This is the point of the year I'm so OVER the summer.  Bring on the cooler temps, please.

A coworker of mine that did Rev3CP with me said he saw a fight break out on the swim for that one, too.  Something about someone getting bumped up into some rocks or something.... I'm thinking "what the heck are you that close to the rocks for to begin with?".
