Originally posted by StaceyKSo very glad to she that you have made it home. I saw the bruises on face book and I must say that they are fairly impressive (and I bet hurt like shyte). I'm guessing that your trip to WA next week and IM WA have both been shelved for a while so that you can recover. I am very sorry to hear that Mutti isn't well and about your friend's mum and that she will have to deal with this alone. Thinking and praying for her. I am really glad to hear about your niece though you have to have some sunshine in your life. I have a new nephew due any day now (kinda sitting here waiting for the phone to ring). That will make 10 nieces and nephews for me and I'm going home next week so hopefully he is born before I get there and I get to see him, otherwise it will most likely be after Christmas.

M-hmmm and why would you think that?!

I'm still coming to Perth. Ironically I have to leave the country before Sep. 18th anyway (before, because of ever changing rules regulations and bureaucratic arseholes wanting payoffs it was I COULDN'T leave the country between Sep. 11-18).

Officially, IMWA is off the table. Frankly the way I felt after IMJ I retired from triathlon! I'm pretty sick.

But because I'm pretty sick, I'm considering considering IMWA. Not actually considering it ... just considering the consideration of it. All trainer and either super-easy treadmill or soft-sand running.

But we'll see. Today I'm still in the shytts so we'll see what tomorrow and the next few weeks bring.

I'm so glad that you are still coming next week as I'm really looking forward to meeting you if I can steal some time away from Kingsley while you are here.

A friend from work and I are planning a little poolside holiday in Bali in late April next year. Is this an ok time to come weather wise, and is there any high holidays that would mean that we aren't allowed to leave the hotel or use power or things like that during that time?

Please, please, please really think about IM WA there is no way that you should do it if you aren't fully recovered, and it is only 13 weeks away. Can you transfer your registration to 2014 due to health?

Originally posted by JJ- Books...anyone recommend any good triathlon inspiration books? I've read Chrissy's book and just finished Chris McCormack's book. I've heard the Crowie's book is just a coffee table book. I'm looking for some more reading when I have spare time when it does happen

I read "IronWar" last year while on a cruise. Not too educational, but a pretty good read. Send me a PM with your address and it'll arrive in the mail in a week or so.

Well, at least you have a diagnosis and can get all healed. I had to google "Fluevogs". Interesting. BTW, how's E?

E's foot is better.  She has one blister left - it drained on its own and we're waiting for the skin to heal.  She goes to the doctor tomorrow to make sure it's all healing ok.

Sounds like both you and E are on the road to recovery though yours may take a bit longer.  At least it's going into your off season....

True, although I really wanted to run a marathon in March.  Definitely not going to happen.  Maybe Disney in 2015.

Oh, by then both my Things will be in college.  Though I am not too sure I ever want to do another full marathon.  But a Disney medal would be way cool.

Jen and Judi, if you get the opportunity to run at Disney, I say do it. The weekend can be real fun, there is a good expo, and there is no shortage of stuff to see on the course. Granted, I am a Disnoid, but it it holds a place in my heart as my first HM. If I ever do a Full, it'll probably be there. It can be crowded and slow, but still a great experience.

Jo great news on the run - baby steps!

Yanti - seems you can't catch a break. Right now, take care of you and heal up. Don't make any decisions about other events until you are healed up and this "depression" leaves your mind.

I'm hoping to do the Dopey one day, but think its gonna be in a few years when the kids are older and can appreciate Disneyland more. For next year, we're booked for Le Disney.

Disney was my first marathon (1/09) If i wasn't sitting here eating french toast I'd motivate myself to take a pic of the mickey mouse medal   I think they redesigned it a year or two ago anyway.  It is an interesting marathon.  Very crowded, so not really a race to do if you are looking for a PR.  But, it is a lot of fun.  Lots of people dressed up in Disney characters.  Characters all over the course.  People stopping to take photos with them.  There is even a line that forms in front of Cinderella's castle with runners waiting to get their picture taken there.  Definitely not a PR race

I have also done the HM there.  Pretty much the same experience as the full; just half

Since I live in Orlando, I didn't stay at the Park or do any park like things around the race, but most people do.  It becomes a big family adventure for a lot of the runners.  The race has almost a cult like following.  I may volunteer this (2014) year.

It seems like that, in fact, very often in my life (cyclically, what say you, manatees, every 12 weeks or so? ) ... I'm like Mr. Bean. It's a bunch of disasters and then everything works out great in the end. Rinse, repeat.

Really, for me, my life is good, always good, very good. I feel really badly for some folks around me (some because they have to endure me, others because they are going through immensely worse things ...).

I pretty much lost my shyte by noon today and if I had the strength I would have killed people, so I called in the troops (my brother) to take over. Just way too much stuff to deal with. It all got dealt with and most importantly Mutti is going to be fine.

Drive by posting....

Sad that I had to change my avi too!

What a crazy weekend for our racers.  Sounds like good decisions were made and that Yanti is going to be even stronger than ever. 3 crashes and still almost made the cutoff.  That's pretty Bad AZZ girl!

Awesome medals being shared

Disney run sounds like a ton of fun.

Lil bit crazy on my end.  My son is starting school today.  I started my new job yesterday (first day post training).  Had to do some last minute school shopping last night but he is ready today.

I am a pretty sad today.  I am going to have to put my cat down.  She is only 8 years old, and perfectly healthy, but she will not stop pis*ing on the rug!  I am an animal lover, and it makes me sad to even think about having to put her down, but she has no claws (so she can't be an outdoor cat), and no one wants a cat that pis*es on the rug.  I REFUSE TO LIVE IN A HOUSE THAT SMELLS LIKE CAT P*SS.

Trying not to think about it.

Oh dear.  That is a tough situation to be in.  Can I ask some questions/offer some advice?

When did it start?  Had something changed? Change in type of litter?  Did you move? New cat in neighborhood?  Litter box moved?  How many litter boxes do you have?  How often do you clean them?  Have you had her urine checked?

Cats are fastidious creatures and don't like urinating outside the litter box. It is often them telling us that something is wrong.  She may have crystals or stones in her bladder, or a urinary tract infection.   It could be stress of some type.  It could be something as ridiculous as someone sneezed when they are in the litter box and they now associate scary noises with the litter box and are afraid to go in!  Alternatively, they can get something called idiopathic cystitis--basically an inflammation of the bladder, usually brought on by stress.  It can be completely managed with Prozac, or another medication.  No, I am not kidding.  I had a cat that would urinate on the spare bed.  Finally put him on meds, voila, calmer kitty, no urinating.

No judgement, Chad, if nothing works, then I understand your decision.  I have seen people try everything, and the cat still urinates on everything.  If you don't have the time to investigate the problem, you could consider surrendering her to a no-kill shelter to rehome her.

Good luck with whatever you decide.

I'm sorry to hear this Chad. I totally understand what a big PITA this issue is. But I think it's worth at least investigating some options first.

Seriously, don't be an idiot.

Ok, I laughed out loud at your post! May be the post of the board

And I was hoping that YOU would chime in on this.  And you said it beautifully.
