cadmus - 2012-04-16 4:00 PM The Cadmus crew gained a new member yesterday.  Nicholas was born at 11:15 am after, in my wife's words, a "very peaceful" labor.  Mom and baby are doing great.

Congratulations!

Congrats Linda.  Way to tough it out.  The Newton hills must have been particularly challenging in this heat.  Enjoy your break.

Congrats Matt.  Wonderful news.

Great news! Glad they're all ok, a peaceful labor sounds good, not sure if my wife could describe any of her labor's like that!

Here's a picture of my middle "baby" on our recent trip to North Stradbroke Island:

Wake up crew!!

I thought I'd give you an update. I'm recovering nicely.  My muscles and joints are ready to go (slowly) again.  The only issue I'm having is with the big toe on my left foot.  It was blistered under the toe nail and on the inner side of the toe.  I've been trying to hold off on draining it, but it's been throbbing for 3 days and I couldn't take it any more.  It's feeling much better now.  I'm shoe shopping tonight.  I need something better for the LONG trail runs with more room in the toe box and more traction.  I will refrain from grossing you out with pics for a change Smile

My splinter was a piece of sharp glass, not wood! No wonder I couldn't see it. A few days to heal and I should be on my way, so thankful!

What's up everyone. Haven't posted in a few days but I see that a lot has happened. Just wanted to post a little update about my training. I have my main race this upcoming Saturday! (USAT Collegiate Nationals down in Tuscaloosa, Alabama). I'm super excited. My team leaves on Thursday morning for a long 14 hours of driving but we'll have all day Friday to hang out and get ready for the race. I've been tapering this last week just taking it easy. Went for a bike ride on Friday and Saturday, took Sunday off, and swam 3000 yards last night. Going to go for a short run today after work - nothing too hard. Any last minute tips or suggestions would be great! The weather looks like it's going to be pretty nasty. Anyone know what happens if there is thunder/lightning?

I believe Roni is our current expert on running in thunder/lightning.

Good luck this weekend, Kevin!

Rain? wind?   Just kidding.  My guess is they would wait for some allotted period of time (USAT has some rule) for the storm to pass.  If it didn't the swim would be cancelled (that happened to me last year) and the rest would go on as planned.

My coach is the coach for the Northwestern Tri team and they will be down there as well.    From what I remember it was hotter than heck last year.
