Originally posted by KansasMom Drive by to say I got first in my age group and took two minutes off my time. I am running out now, but later I will try to post a picture of my trophy, and you will understand why I wanted first. Two of the water crossings were above my waist, and one of those was chest deep. It was a blast.

CONGRATULATIONS!

ETA: I see why you wanted the trophy!  Really cool.

I haven't dropped off the earth, I'm just not logging anything because I'm officially on the DL list.  I don't know what's wrong, but my right ankle is a mess.  I've got swelling into my foot and up through my calf, and just a ton of pressure.  It sort of feels like if I could just crack it (you know, like a knuckle), it would be fine, but I can't seem to make that happen.  Totally weird because it started when I had my mileage dialed waaaay back and I didn't do anything to it acutely.  Totally confusing.

I can't get into ortho until Wednesday, but I'm going to completely chill until then.  Quite honestly, walking is difficult and it's waking me up at night.  WTF?

Dislike

I hope it's nothing serious.

Nooo!  Ugh, that sucks - but until you get some answers from the ortho, chilling is good...  you should also have whiskey.  Chilling with whiskey is better.

Nope. I was open to any color except white and charcoal (dh has that color) and they only had 2 on the lot. The green one happened to be spec'd exactly as I wanted it. NO NAVIGATION thank you very much!

When we bought my car a few years ago I thought I would love the navigation cause I have a lousy sense of direction (seriously, I am better biking and running than behind the wheel of a car for directions)  I hardly ever used it.  However, as Ford sent us upgrades to the Sync system the navigation wasn't included.  I use my phone for navigation and have no problem with that.

Grrrrrrrrr cars! Mine shyt the tin last week (DH slang for died). It needs a new motor $4,500 and 3 weeks and we should be good to go. I shouldn't complain it is 10 years old and has done 210,000k. Anyway that new bike I had been thinking about just got canned big time.

THAT'S what I'm talking about Garmin and google maps have a much better handle on navigation right now than the car manufacturers. I've heard nightmare from some Honda owners too LOL

and it costs a ridiculous amount and you can't even update it yourself. BOO YAAA

Oh yeah, gettin excited. Or maybe I'm overtired.

Yay for new cars!

It's just like me today. I was swimming without navigation! The boat had to urge me back to the pack. I think I swam at least an extra 2-300. Pretty funny stuff. I'd love to see it on video. lol

DH and I had a good last morning together. Now getting started on RR.

I would be so totally and completely lost if it wasn't for Google maps.  I'm severely directionally challenged at the best of times and if I have to head somewhere I haven't been to before (or even if I have been there) you can generally find me standing with my phone turning in a circle trying to figure out which direction I'm even facing before walking in the wrong direction.

It could be far worse. I could have to ride my bike everywhere! I know that doesn't sound like a Bad idea, but it has rained nearly everyday this month and we live at the top of Mt Everest!

Wrist update - saw the doc today slipped off the now very loose cast, moved my hand about a bit - rotating the hand hurts and kind of grinds the bones it feels like!  Yuck.

he out a half cast on which i can take off for showering and sleeping.

Fibreglass cast goes on Wednesday morning - four weeks,

all good but new cast is very immobile...one handed typing results in sore shoulder.

Ho hum at least its not a leg

Glad to hear that it is going OK and the Fiberglass cast should make it even easier later in the week. It will definitely be lighter for running.

No worries, that's why we are all here ... Manatees are known to go walkabout, er, swimabout both in the wild and in this pod (though we can hardly be called domesticated, I think).

Nooo!  Ugh, that sucks - but until you get some answers from the ortho, chilling is good...  you should also have whiskey.  Chilling with whiskey is better.

Aw, Switchy. Warm healing {MELON PRESS} ... see what the ortho says for sure, and totally random, but it sounds like something a GOOD SPORTS chiro might also be able to help.

Oops fail on my part! I am not racing this weekend as my blog foretold...And obviously, I have neglected to hang out here much recently as well...double fail!

Update: I've been working, sewing the Cheshire Cat, building a home for wayward frogs, cleaning, dealing with the parental stuff (they are much the same--whole lot of waiting, not much else...though Mom will start chemo on Monday, so we're all worried--nonetheless, we'll get through it!), and a bit of running in anticipation of my half marathon in 2.5 weeks...That's all; nothing toooooo out of the ordinary! Laughing

You're going to be KittyCat soon instead of KatieFrog ...
