Just a little update to all of you who have been so kind with your inspires.

I haven't dropped off the earth, I'm just not logging anything because I'm officially on the DL list.  I don't know what's wrong, but my right ankle is a mess.  I've got swelling into my foot and up through my calf, and just a ton of pressure.  It sort of feels like if I could just crack it (you know, like a knuckle), it would be fine, but I can't seem to make that happen.  Totally weird because it started when I had my mileage dialed waaaay back and I didn't do anything to it acutely.  Totally confusing.

I can't get into ortho until Wednesday, but I'm going to completely chill until then.  Quite honestly, walking is difficult and it's waking me up at night.  WTF?

Ouch!  Take care of yourself!

{{hugs}}

(No bug bites or anything?)

Originally posted by Richardsdrr Switch, is it swollen? Could it be holding fluid in the joints? Sounds nasty. Welcome training bike no2, hope she doesn't abuse you as much as she does Red Rocket. (Or was it Red Robber?) Congratulations Felicia on your podium, nice trophy you have there. I survived my weekend, barely, and am hobbling around the house like an old trout. Steps are a huge form of amusement to my wife and kids at the moment. I'll save the rest for the RR.

I'm glad that you survived Equinox 24 and I look forward to hearing about it!

You are going to tell us about this one, right?  I don't recall any Wales Long Course Weekend reports :-(

My car has 96k and I got it December 2009! Its been very good to me but its about to need some maintenance - timing belt etc. And of course it didn't have the bells and whistles of dh car. So we went to the dealer and the price was right. Eek! OK I'm done Enjoy the rest of your weekend runs, races and recoveries.

Yeah, yeah, old car, lotsa miles, maintenance...  but you failed to mention the most important thing...

What did you get for a shiny new car???

(we don't have a car so I need to live vicariously through others who get the shiny new ones

Thanks for humoring my first world problem It's a 2014 Subaru Outback. It's replacing my 2010 Subaru Outback - both the same color LOL - completely different interior though.

NICE!  I had to laugh that you got the same colour though - did you do that on purpose?

Grrrrrrrrr cars! Mine shyt the tin last week (DH slang for died). It needs a new motor $4,500 and 3 weeks and we should be good to go. I shouldn't complain it is 10 years old and has done 210,000k. Anyway that new bike I had been thinking about just got canned big time.

Boo!  It's bad enough that the car is misbehaving but when it causes bike issues, that's awful!  I'm glad that it's getting taken care of and I hope that it didn't leave you stranded anywhere when it bit the dust.

Fibreglass cast goes on Wednesday morning - four weeks,

all good but new cast is very immobile...one handed typing results in sore shoulder.

Ho hum at least its not a leg

I'm glad to hear that your wrist is healing well and that you get a fiberglass cast on Wednesday.  That should be a big improvement!

It didn't leave me stranded thankfully it was DH. He was at dog training and I was at a meeting so didn't get the message until an hour after he called , oops. I had to go and pick him and the dog up in the ute, so for the 30 minute drive home I had an 80kg dog sitting on my lap. Not fun but we made it without too much bruising, man for 80kg she is a boney dog.

Thankfully I have 8 weeks of unused annual leave at work and they have let me cash in 4 weeks of that so it is paying for the new to us motor.

Yum...love a dirty chai.  Some friends have mentioned that a pumpkin chai is good.  I find the pumpkin spice latte to be too sweet (although I get at least one every year); I'm wondering about a dirty pumpkin chai.  It even sounds kind of dirty.

Mmmm. I haven't tried pumpkin. SBux recently came out with a chocoloate chai. We didn't care much for that one. My fave chai of all time was the the dirty eggnog chai that I had after my HM last November. SOOOOO GOOOOOOD! I must try the pumpkin though, sounds yummy.

Thanks to everyone for the well wishes and ideas.  No bug bite, and I wish I had a good sports chiro, but sadly finding a good sports med doc is hard enough.

Highlight of my weekend?  My kids giving me a package that had come on Wednesday (I guess).  They had been wanting to surprise me with it (they're kinda weird about mail, and think that every package that comes in the mail is like a present, and for them it usually is).  Anyway, they forgot to give it to me, and when I opened it I saw this.  Thanks TJ--very, very kind.  I am a total sock freak and snob, and you couldn't have nailed it any better.  Too cool.  Feelin the love :)

Glad you like the socks! I luf Sock Guy. Now heal up so you can get out there and use them!!!!!!!!!

P.S. That is our state symbol. It's on our flag (and most everything else). It was first created by the Zia Tribe. Here is a description of what it stands for...

The design represents a circular sun with linear rays extending in four directions. To the Zia people and other cultures, four is a significant number. It is embodied in the four directions of the earth, the four seasons of the year, the four times of the day: sunrise, noon, evening and night, and in life’s four divisions of childhood, youth, adulthood and old age. Everything is bound together in a circle of life, without beginning, without end. The Zia also believe that in this Great Brotherhood of all things, humans have four sacred obligations: they must develop a strong body, a clear mind, a pure spirit and a devotion to the welfare of their people.

Quick pop in on a Sbux walk. Didn't feel like running or biking, but thought a 7mi walk with coffee stop was just the thing this morning. DH is in DC all week so didn't sleep well last night...but "Bridesmaids" entertained me til 1am.

It probably is, but that's how I keep up. There've been a couple times when I was away from my computer and phone for a few hours and came back to 75 emails! Cool

Saturday I wanted a change of scenery for my LSR so I packed up the dog and we drove to the MUP near the river. Balloon Fiesta is a big deal here and starts in a couple weeks but, of course, there are always balloons to be seen on a beautiful morning in Albuquerque.

ETA: The duckblind was a cool (literally) place to stop and stretch at the end of my run.

Can't believe work kept me away from BT until just now! In fact, I'm still drinking the DD coffee I bought at 8. Silly work.

Great pics! One of the things I remember best about my one and only trip to New Mexico ( Taos and Santa Fe ) is how different the light is there from anyplace else I've visited. It really makes the colors - especially the sky, look so crisp.

Back when I lived in Nebraska I was in the middle of trial prep with one of my fave AUSA's. I remember he'd be drinking DD all day and in to the evening until we left. If there was coffee left in his cup when we came in the next morning he'd microwave it and finish it off!

Ok, I'm not that bad, but I will admit to reheating my x-large coffee as often as it takes to keep it as hot as I like it.

My partner does that too, but she forgets it in the microwave about half the time. Mine never lasts long enough to need re-heating.

This is Trevor!  I have him for one more week.  Or I guess since I am at his house, he has me

Switch, sorry to hear about your ankle, hope it is nothing too serious.

Jen, what's new with your possible new job?

Salty, you must be getting excited for YOUR new job!

Great job all you racers, I haven't checked out any RR, but Felicia, that is a pretty cool trophy.

Welcome to Kingsley, welcome back Nancy.

Jo, glad to hear things are headed in the right direction with your wrist/cast.

I think I can be taken off the DL for my foot, but kept on for my shoulder.  Grrrrrr!

Back to work, sigh!
