That's pretty cool. Too bad there were so many negative comments from others.

Lol - I actually didn't read the comments - there are soooo many internet idiots that I generally end up just shaking my head at the stupidity and meanness whenever I read the comments on a story.  I'm just HUGELY impressed with what she was able to accomplish without even really trying.

Can you imagine... missing the turnoff and then just deciding to finish a marathon?  I WISH I could run like that!

I've done the reverse ( marathon into HM), it was no big deal

HA!

I read that story.  Blows my feeble little mind that someone could accidentally run a marathon in place of a half marathon and still get a BQ on their first go at it.

Good day all, I hope all is well with everyone. A quick shout out to a bunch of you:

Monica, congrats on the Betty designation. I am soooo happy that you made the decision to go for it. And I love the new sig line!

TJ and Felicia, Congrats on finding the time to meet up, how cool is that? I know your schedules were probably quite full, so finding the time is pretty cool stuff.

Kate, I hope that everything goes as well as it possibly can for your mom. Your family is in my prayers. And congrats on the changes in schedule for you, you've earned it, do NOT feel anything other than proud.

Ann-Marie, I hope that people start to listen at work and that your young man is A-OK.

Stacey, Enjoy the races, even if you don't race them.

Switch, I hope your ankle responds well and you return to your normal hard running self. Your logs being empty hurts me just a little bit, I'm sure it hurts you a lot more. Heal up, buddy.  BTW, After seeing your race photos, I think you can pull off any race outfit you want, even gnomes and unicorns.

Kirsten, I love your new friend Trevor. What a great looking fella he is.

Ben, Awesome job at Branson.

Tom, nice ride out in the country, congrats on a good day, even if the cold was no fun.

Jo, I hope the arm keeps healing and you keep smiling,

I had a short conversation about positive thinking with Janyne, she has posted some good stuff in the Manatee Google thread. It is interesting to see different aspects of racing, especially the power that our minds play in it. I hope to really work on the mental part of things more in the winter running/race season.

Have a great day everyone!

Chris - very well said, and for many reasons - thank you.

You were the one who encouraged me to throw my hat into the ring in the first place, and without that, I never really would have considered it.

I was telling DH about this and showed him the site. He liked the designs so maybe i'll have to score one. Completely for his benefit, of course, so that he has a different kit to look for when I race. Laughing

That was my thought too. I love how she thought it all through though.

Boooooooo!!!!  Cry

No Flo wheels for me this go-round.  The site was really slow and kept telling me that my cart was empty so I had to go back and try to re-order which left me with 5 wheels in my cart at one point, and then wouldn't let me adjust during checkout to only have 1 set.

THEN, the site said my card number was invalid even though I checked to be sure that my visa debit card would be okay, and then they were all sold out.

Oh well, I guess I'll just need to have the MC cleared for their next sale in November.  Undecided

Thanks Chris!  I was trying to get at the fact that when I look at people's logs, there is a lot of negativity and I wish there was more positivity.  Some Manatees seem get bogged down by negative thinking and negative self talk.  (And yes, sometimes it's just to commiserate or kind of joking around.  I recognize that too!)  I don't think that this negative thinking/self talk benefits training in any way.  I posted some articles and an MP3 in the Google+ area for those who might be interested.

We spend so much time training our bodies, why not make a tiny effort to train our minds?

How does one get to see what is posted in the Google manatee area?  It said it's private and I need an invitation...

I wish you could've gotten in and gotten the wheels, Mon.  I've been wondering how people like the Flos.

Monica just reminded via inspire me that I have an update for you.

Turns out my ankle thing is acute achilles tendonitis.  Sahhhweet!  I've never had any achillies issues before so hopefully this will be a short term deal.  I ran into an ortho guy at work yesterday, and got a little professional courtesy diagnosis--awesome!  So I don't have to schlepp over to an ortho appointment today, which is nice, as I have a big grant deadline tomorrow (see how hard I'm working on it--ha!.

Anyway, now that I've read up on it, I'm quite sure that's what it is, and I think I can be back at by this weekend.  Salty and Ben have already warned me about a slow and steady rebuild, and I will do that.  Promise

Again, many thank yous for the inspires, PMs, and general well-wishes.  It is very nice, much appreciated, and helps a girl not feel so bummed about being on the DL. You guys are awesome. Xo.

Ick.  I hope it's nothing too serious!  That sounds very not fun.

OK...I got my but-tocks going this morning without feeling the blahs. "Ran" a very slow 10k in z2. I don't often do much over 5mi. Woot!  Plus it's windy this morning, so I don't feel too bad about the time. Aaaaand going that slow, I felt like I could've kept going to "infinity and beyond!!!"  OOOOOOH! I think I shall refer to it as a quarter mary. Tongue out

Baby girl most of the last few days...definitely not her usual self. Sick AND getting in molars Frown

I can still trainer ride, i can still run.  She said i can go to the pool but i am NOT to swim.  I can do kickboard...

Or you could swim in circles doing one armed freestyle

How timely of you to post these, especially the last one with the gnome and unicorn and rainbow.  A guy in our tri club was 'scarred' by having to bike behind a male in these (the male bikini version of what you posted) for a long distance in his last tri (Savageman, I think).  Someone snuck a photo of him and emailed it to the group but I must've deleted it.

I'm seriously digging this unicorn suit! My Nike is ummmmm....starting to play peek-a-butt.

Wonder if I could talk DH into matching ones? baaaahahahaha (why, oh why, is there not a laughing w/tears emo guy????)

I have a trail race this weekend - my crazy sister who is one of the best Masters runners in her state is coming up to do it, and dragging me along. It is a 5K and supposedly rugged and tough. She will do about 21 minutes, I will do about 45!! I was adopted, and we obviously don't share the same genes!!! Hope you all have a great day! It is amazingly beautiful here in NY! Nancy

Damnit people, I have work to do.  And now you're "forcing" me to look at the men's bikinis.  What would you people do without me?

Oh... you mean these (they have a non sparkly version, but really, why would you not go all the way at this point)

Any man who would rock this one, I would buy at least a beer for post-race:

In white?  Bwahahaha!

And there's a song to go with this one:

Just me or does anyone else think it would be funny to ask pink thumbs up guy for a "high five"? Innocent

I think my lonely week is peaking terribly. lol

Trainer has sat empty for three days which is very odd for me, but least I've been getting in my runs.

I was thinking that you wouldn't want there to be too much cold water shrinkage with the white one Does your DH get home soon Erin?

Well, it does say "Compress This", right? Cool

DH home late tomorrow night! Definitely miss him, buuuuutttt I've had several nights of complete tv control. lol
