It was not pretty. It was so humid out and to boot I was dumb and ran the last 9 miles directly into a 15-20mph head wind. Is it common at this point to not feel confident anymore? BEcause I am there.
It's true that a really tough run can shake your confidence, but please don't get discouraged. When you train long enough you will inevitably have a few workouts, sometimes even key workouts, that don't go well. Sometimes they feel like complete disasters when you are in the middle of them.
But you can still get something useful out of them. We had less than optimal weather this weekend and you did your long run anyway. And you did the last 9 miles into a tough wind! Be proud of that. Think about what got you through it and how you can use that and build on it when things get tough during the race. And know that if you can do that in training you can definitely do it on race day!
And maybe start logging your workouts so we can drop in and leave encouragement for you in your logs along the way.
