Veteran 218 | Subject: RE: Beach2Battleship Iron Distance Triathlon : Official Thread trinunya - 2012-03-20 9:50 PM Don Fink's Intermediate Full Iron 30 week schedule starts on Monday 3/26. Anyone else going by this schedule? Using the Intermediate with 3 modifications: running 6 days @ 3short- 2medium- 1 long, increasing shorter bikes to 1:30 on a hilly route and increased the plan to 33 weeks by inserting 3 light run weeks in the Peak Phase (I know from experience that I do better with a light week every third). Anyone else going by this schedule? I'm using the competitive, the schedule works well for me. Today was a great day for a rest day! I already signed up for the Pittsburgh Olympic and Buck Creek, OH HIM, and they both fall into the exact weeks called for in the plan, so I got pretty lucky there. I'm doing a half marathon in May, and an earlier Olympic in June, but other than that, I'll be sticking with the plan. |

Expert 1394 Wilmington, NC | Subject: RE: Beach2Battleship Iron Distance Triathlon : Official Thread so the rumour is that T2 could be indoors (I am thinking in the convention center or in the parking structure of the convention center) and that the finish will b edowntown Wilmington on the riverfront looking at the battleship. This sounds cool to me. |

New user 41 | Subject: RE: Beach2Battleship Iron Distance Triathlon : Official Thread I'm ok with changing the finish line to the mainland. The logistics of having to catch the boats back was a nightmare to say the least (at least the first year).
I'm looking for help finding a large vacation rental for the week for 10-15 people. Last year we came by RV, but this year we have a large group (from Canada), and would like to rent a house. I've found dozens on various vacation rental sites, but it's overwhelming to say the least. Any specific recommendations would be great. |

I have used VRBO.com on quite a few occasions and have never been disappointed. Actually I used it the last time I was at B2B (before I moved to Wilmington). I have only ever gone with smaller peoperties, but I am sure there are lots of bigger ones as well. |

Regular 82 | Subject: RE: Beach2Battleship Iron Distance Triathlon : Official Thread Well, the weather has certainly made getting road mileage in a bit better here in Southern IN. Got a plan that looks to work through progressive training while working full time and holding up the family time. A lot of work to be done just to step to the starting line. Wish everyone a safe training season and look forward to as many tips that you are all kind enough to offer. |

Regular 108 Raleigh, NC | Subject: RE: Beach2Battleship Iron Distance Triathlon : Official Thread Hi fellow B2B'rs.. just introducing myself.. I did the HIM here last year, was incredible feeling.. got an injury earlier this year and then doubted having the needed motivation for a Full thus pulled out of IMCdA, thought i was going to take a back seat but decided this week that I'd go for the Full @ B2B!.. so, now I'm signed up and thinking I need to get my arse in gear and start getting in the training groove again.. I'm planning on doing the 20wk Beginner program here on BT, starts on the 4th of June, anyone else doing the same program? Looking forward to the journey, reading this thread and following everyones progressions. Donnie p.s. if anyone else is in the Raleigh area and would be interested in maybe doing some training at times or connecting I'd love to hear from you.. |

If I take a swing at that race, it's gonna be the half at B2B..Hope everyone's training is going well. |

I have not ridden a bike, except a few times this past December, since that failed attempt in 2010 and I have not swam since then. I guess I will have my work cut out for me if I decide to do it. |

Extreme Veteran 646 | Subject: RE: Beach2Battleship Iron Distance Triathlon : Official Thread I'm in for round two of the Half. Had a fantastic race last year despite the cold, wind, and rain, and am shooting for a sub-5 hour...if the current is stronger than last year and the weather's better. This is such a fun race that I've coerced/convinced 2 friends into doing the full and at least 3 to do the half. Looking for a party house to rent for the week |

1 | Subject: RE: Beach2Battleship Iron Distance Triathlon : Official Thread michael21 - 2012-02-13 4:05 PM B2B will also be my first IM. I am in the finishing stages of planning my training out(Fink) but can not find a half IM around the 2 month to go mark. I was wondering what you guys are doing, if you are adding a half IM. Are you doing it sooner or later? I really don't want to do just a longer race type training day in place of the race. For reference I am in Chareston, SC. Any help would be great. B2B will be my first IM also and I'm doing the Fink Competitive plan. For my HIM, I'm signing up for Patriots Half in Williamsburg on 9/8 which is two weeks later than the 8/26 date suggested. I like this later date for the Half because it breaks up what would otherwise be a five week continuous build to the 20hr peak to a three week build (shifting the 17 hour week to the HIM week, followed by 18, then HIM). Hours will be 16, 17, 18, 12, 19, 19.5, 20 vs. 16, 12, 17, 18, 19, 19.5, 20. Edited by sradabaugh 2012-05-07 8:42 PM |
