Ugh, sorry to hear it... but....

Today is the BEST!

Started with having to report for jury duty, but then I didn't get picked and was released at 11:30am and am done for the week.  The only thing that would have made it better is if I didn't have to go back to the normal job tomorrow.

Today is very mediocre over here.

I was told I have to be in to work by 8:30 a.m. now (first world probz I know) instead of my leisurely 9 or 9:30 a.m. I was used to. My boss's boss got paranoid one day last week when only one of the three of us was here before 9 when he needed something. Of course that means no one will be here past 5 p.m. so when they need something at 5:05 - tough luck. I actually thought it worked out well to have someone here earlier and someone here later to cover all of the needs, but early bird wins out I guess.

But then I was told I'm finally getting an iPhone 5 - my 4 is on the fritz. Plus I get to switch to Verizon so hopefully it will actually WORK at my house. Currently with AT&T it only works in one room sporadically. That will be nice to only be 2 versions away from the newest technology instead of 4.

Verizon does have better, reliable coverage. There are occasional data gaps; on the Amtrak line near Newark, it gets unreliable. Sometimes in Boston, it will roam (you wouldn't think that in a major city). Be careful turning on and off international service as you have to dial *228 at the right time to update your SIM card for the new plan to take effect.

The only reason I went ATT was financial. Shared plan with my wife and daughter is much cheaper than stand alone was.

Morning TAN.

Reason #1 to go to work early - I drank the last of the coffee at home.  Ugh.

Happy Friday!

TGIF TAN

So as you may or may not know... the DH and a few others from BT are now in Vegas for a weekend of debauchery and here I sat at home last night being effing steamed with him (he's the cook in our house) as I went to actually use the oven tonight (I know, I know... what was I thinking?), preheated it to bake some chicken breasts for lunch tomorrow, only to open the oven door once the oven was heated to have a MASSIVE plume of smoke come out and set off the fire alarm.

Excellent.

It takes approximately 2.5 seconds from when the alarm goes off until it alerts the fire department which is one block away from the condo and then they're at our place within 3 minutes unless you call their "stand down" number in time.  Yeah, guess who DOESN'T have that number.

Hello fire department.  Again.

Was there something sitting in the oven while it was pre-heating? What caused the smoke????

Yep, it's from the cook putting food in the oven and not using a pan/dish/anything to put said food on whilst in the oven thus making the oven racks dirty and then not cleaning them after... which meant a LOT of smoke when I pre-heated the oven to try and use it last night.

Training our bodies to work efficiently in Zone 2 will help us keep our HR and pace even throughout an Ironman. This theory would hold true for the bike and run portion of an Ironman race.
