Congratulations Mike!!!

Congratulations Mike and Dan, exciting times for both of you!

I got to deliver my 3rd child - Oliver - at home, it was one of the most amazing things I'll ever do in my whole life. This afternoon he came in while I was in the middle of the hardest interval of my trainer ride demanding the Apple password so he could download an app, and then shouted "I hate you" when I told him to let me finish the ride! Such is parenthood...

Shea's (and my) 15K: DONE!!! And sooooooooooooooooo much fun!! Glorious, sunny Seattle day (a gift -- it was pouring and windy last night!). My daughter is amazing and we had a blast. I'm so proud of her. She is comatose on the couch right now, deservedly so.

Because this was a special event for her, I was johnny-on-the-spot with the RR because I want to preserve the memories. So, here it is!! Not sure what's next for us, but she keeps talking half marathon. I told her I need to get my marathon done first, and then I'll train her for whatever she wants. She starts Girls on the Run on Tuesday, building up to a 5K. She wants to run that 5K for speed and w/o walk breaks. I hope I can keep up with her, as I'm her running buddy come race day. Good times!!

Congrats on the race. I hope my daughter and I can do that. I am going to have to get some pointers from you. She is only 4 so I think I need to start small with some funs runs and such.

I did a 10k today and it went pretty well. Here is the link http://www.beginnertriathlete.com/discussion/directory/link-detail.asp?linkid=51871

Congrats, Mike, Kyla and Shea!

On the light side, we had a record snowfall here in Atlanta yesterday.  The new record of a trace amount replaces the old record of no snow whatsoever.  I got in 10K on a beautiful but cold and windy day today.

Wow what a weekend for the group.  Congrats to everyone for great races and new babies.  They are all a celebration of life and that's why we all drag ourselves out the door at o'dark early.

Happy Monday.

Kyla,

Congrats to Shea.  You two are going to have many many more race memories to preserve.  Better start a scrap book.

Man, that's scary!  This is one of the reasons I don't mind the trainer, especially on weekdays...  no worry about cars, no worry about an accident (well this one time I almost wrecked on my trainer, but that's a different story!

Like Suzy asked, did the driver stop?

Be careful, take it easy, take care of your family.... Hope your ok. Ps our wife's are very different. I never would have been "able" to go for a ride...let alone run a 10k the day after she gave birth. You all need some rest.Quick healing. What was the story behind how you got hit?

I was on a busy road and traffic was going slow. I was came to a point where cars can turn. I didnt realize that there was a car turning. Luckily she had already made the turn(technically I hit her) and I hit her rear panel. I flipped over and landed pretty hard on my lower back. The bike survived with a bent seatt and the handlebars need to be straightend. The driver did stop and seemed more shaken up than me. I witness called 911 so the cops came and filed a report. I am guessing the driver had a warrant or something because she left in handcuffs(maybe this was the reason she was histerical)

I am in need of a new saddle. Any suggestions on one that is affordable? I just had the standard one on the Giant defy.

The doc said just soft tissue issue. She said take 48-72 hours off. Since I statred the plan, it seems I can only get the first week done. I guess i will just push back and start where I was suppose to be. We will see how I feel tomorrow

My wife is very understanding. She gave birth on Fri and I took Fri and Sat. She is a keeper. She is really good

I dont have a trainer. I prefer to get out on the road. It will be something to consider in the future.
