Master 4452 | Subject: RE: Manatees - 2018 Edition Now CLOSED I don't know about anyone else, but 4 days weeks are always soooooo busy! I guess cause I try to get 5 days worth of work done in 4 days....What's everyone plans for the Easter weekend? I have a run tomorrow, long ride on Saturday (hopefully in the sun) and swim on Sunday. Monday Easter brunch with the family. There was a conversation about power meters not too long ago and I finally pulled the trigger. Lots more numbers to look at....glad I have a coach to tell me what to do with them. Happy Easter everyone! |

Master 8249 Eugene, Oregon | Subject: RE: Manatees - 2018 Edition Now CLOSED Haven't been able to contribute since apparently people in Indonesia are banned?! I was on Bintan Island for three days and could only view and log training, but not reply to anything. When I tried it said, "This IP has been restricted." Hope Yanti isn't silenced over there as well... Spring break and we have been in Singapore and on Bintan. Not the greatest of weather but we did have one really nice day on Wednesday and got in a lot of beach time (swimming for me, beach combing for both of us). Back in Singapore and about ready to do some fabric shopping. I have myself, Mom (who wants me to design her some dresses), and a friend to shop for. Those shop owners better get the batik out! Swimming has sadly been mostly in the pool owing to high surf and/or very low tides, on the island most days. Our resort had three pools and luckily one of them was a 25m rectangular one. Narrow but deep and cool enough for workouts. Kept feeling like a shark swimming back and forth in a tank. Today is a day off from training; planning a long run in the Botanic Gardens tomorrow. Flying back to Saigon in the afternoon and then a long ride and maybe out for Easter brunch with Mom on Sunday. Edited by Hot Runner 2018-03-29 7:39 PM |

Congrats on the power meter, I'll be interested to hear how your biking life with PM compares before and after. Nothing too exciting going on. Working Friday (today), long bike tomorrow but I will be getting outside, we're finally getting a warmer, not rainy day! Sunday I have a long run and will be making Easter dinner for EFP and I, my sister and her boyfriend, and another friend. Back to work Monday. Happy Easter! |

Expert 2811 | Subject: RE: Manatees - 2018 Edition Now CLOSED 9 miles today. long trainer ride tomorrow. Two of the girls are home. My in laws and a niece and nephew are coming up. April will be dicey. Construction on a new kitchen starts Tuesday, so I will see how much that messes up training. The project is long overdue. Michelle said she has been waiting 19 years for this. I appreciate her tolerance of 1970's cheap. I freshened up our bathroom last month and that took a toll. |

Master 8249 Eugene, Oregon | Subject: RE: Manatees - 2018 Edition Now CLOSED News Flash--I just signed up for Ironman Malaysia (in November). Yes, I know--I won't be living in Asia anymore at that point. Yes, I know I am crazy. Heat doesn't faze me much; the idea of being cold for 12+ hours does. All the other warm-ish fall races were either full already, in places Mom didn't want to travel to, or, according to my coach, had a significant chance of cold water/weather. Dumbest reason ever for choosing a first IM venue, probably. Plus I have flown over the venue (Langkawi) and it looked really nice. And my friend Sophie says they have fresh coconuts on the run course. That is all. Off for long run in the Botanic Garden in Singapore. Edited by Hot Runner 2018-03-30 6:19 PM |

There's a little golf tournament in town this week, & I have a ticket for the afternoon, so I'll be fighting traffic, tens of thousands of people & spending too much money getting stuff in the shop. My backordered power meter is supposed to ship this week. |

436 | Subject: RE: Manatees - 2018 Edition Now CLOSED Happy Tuesday everyone! I was in Toronto (where I'm originally from) for the weekend and after over-eating for the last 3 days it felt great to get a run in this morning. Between the stress of traveling with 2 young kids and not having worked out for 3 days, I was itching for a hard workout. For those of you that ordered power-meters, which one did you go with? I was reading Triathlete Magazine's 2018 Buyer Guide and there's so much I want to buy but definitely don't need . |

I’m leaning that way too, but am interested to hear what others have gone with. |

Member 836 North Augusta, South Carolina | Subject: RE: Manatees - 2018 Edition Now CLOSED I'm getting the Garmin Vector 3. They still haven't shipped, though. Supposed to be this week. EDITED: I am NOT getting the Garmin Vector 3 because I received an e-mail last night that the backorder is now extended until mid-May. I cancelled the order and then spent a lot of time talking with my coach and doing more research. I JUST ordered the Assioma Duo pedals. I also realized that if you order through Clever Training and add the $9.99 VIP package, it takes 10% off the cost of the pedals (so a $70 discount once you add the $9.99 VIP cost back in). Hope to have them by Monday. I chatted with one of the guys at www.powermetercity.com and they RAVED about the Assioma pedals. I was nervous about the rechargeable batteries, but I guess we'll see. Master 9705 Raleigh, NC area | Subject: RE: Manatees - 2018 Edition Now CLOSED I'm back! My trip was great but now I need to kick into into gear to get ready for my event in May. What was I thinking?! nevermind, I'm totally blaming it on Jackie for suggesting it! Quick trip summary: Went to Italy, took a cruise from Rome to Venice. I loved Sicily. Taormina was beautiful. We had a chance to go to Mt. Etna and we did but as it turns out, I could have been just as happy to get as close to Etna as we did to Vesuvius (yup, there it is, mountain with snow, where's the pizza) and I'd have actually loved to spend more time in Taormina. In Crotone/Calabria,w e went on a private wine tour of Ceraudo with a lunch at their Datillo restaurant (Michlin starred). Then we went to Bari where I was able to run on the promenade after seeing their old town, including Basilica di San Nicola (they stole his bones from Turkey and now claim to have 80% of his "relics"). Then it was Croatia where we docked in Sibneck and visited Split (Cathedral of Saint Domnius in Diocletian's Palace), and then several days in Venice. Very beautiful. Very crowded. I loved Murano and Burano. St. Mark's (more stolen relics in St Mark's Basilica) was super crowded and difficult to see properly. Anyway, quick catch up: Melanie, I don't foam roll my calves, I use a softball or lacrosse ball. Be sure to take your shoes off or this (well, I take one shoe off and roll that leg and then swap). Alternatively, I use The Stick. I have a travel size. |
