Got to go see my good friend and her baby (all 9 lb 9 ox of her!) in the hospital this morning. Everyone is doing great.

...and now I'm at my desk. Boo. 

there are days that I get so frustrated at people and the stories they tell that I wish go on them, but that would cause me to lose my job. Some incidents it takes every ounce of my willpower to control it. I cannot stand a liar.

Yup, that's my morning. 

If I recall correctly you are a doc too ? Yeah I get it.  Most days I let most stupid things slide because I don't have the energy to fight the stupid.  Somedays I can't stand it.  Like the lady who was on 20 medications and denied any medical problems.AAARRRGHHHHHHH

Ha - I have a friend who is/was a paramedic and would get that all the time...

Nope

Then why did your spouse just give me an XL sized Ziploc baggie full of prescriptions that you're currently taking?

Oh yeah those.  I have to take all those daily, but they're not "real" drugs.

Found some chicken/rice soup in the cafeteria and it totally hit the spot! Reminded me of being a kid, my mom always used to make it when I was sick. Or pour it out of a can anyway.

Spin class or no spin class tonight if I feel like I *might* be getting sick? Sweat it out or make it worse??

Made me laugh about the soup - my dad's go to for ANY meal was to add cream of mushroom soup.  We kind of cringed on the nights that dad was cooking.

Power and Light district is super fun for a night out! Plaza christmas lights are cool this time of year as well.

Good races in the area, too, Kansas 70.3 is near Lawrence which is only a 30-40 min drive. Really wish I lived up there!

Hooray for Friday Eve! One week from tomorrow is my last day in the office until Jan 6th.  Soooo looking forward to that.

Probably half of you won't care and I know there are humans going thru a lot worse but anyway here I sit at work all worried about my kitten.  I got him about 4 weeks ago.  Poor little bugger was at a kill shelter and someone posted his picture and being the soft hearted sap that I am i said OK I will take the purty grey kitty with the broken leg.  Turns out he has a fracture at his knee and also at his hip.  He came tome in a long leg cast which he has tolerated VERY well and even has been getting up and down stairs with it.  So today we take the cast off and hiding under there was a foot injury as well.  My poor sweet little baby has a really ugly soft tissue injury that is infected (its pretty gross I will not go into details but the vet tech nearly threw up) and I had to leave him at the vet for surgery   he is probably going to loose a few toes.  His knee is at least healed and we are not sure how he is going to tolerate the hip injury.  He doesn't seem bothered by it but he might need surgery for that too.  I will let him get over this first.  He is going to be my million dollar cat!
