Originally posted by Fred D Thanks everyone, I appreciate your comments! I was thinking of this group a lot during the race, definitely helped with some rough patches. 69 overall stands, although got nipped by someone in my age group at the end, but it didn't have the legs to catch him. My transitions were pretty slow, however I am over the moon with my race. Great swim. PR on the bike by 9'. PR on the run by 13'. Will post more when I'm more human, but didn't walk once on the run!

Well done Fred!  Rest up....

Thanks so much!  I put myself in a hole with a 1:13 ish swim, and although I thought I had a good effort on the bike the split was 7 min slower than "the plan".  I felt great on the first 19 miles of the run but faultered a bit the last 6 miles.  Still an IM run PR for me (3:37) but quite disappointing overall (16th in M50-54)  Not an IM PR by a long shot...did a 10:20 in AZ last November.  Back to the drawing board

Awesome performance Fred!!

Give yourself credit... I haven't done those two races yet, but I'd say the MT bike course looks much more challenging than Arizona

x2... awesome result and I bet you just gave your coach some new business

Oh and those transitions... I looked at the top 20 or so and they were all in the same ballpark as you.  Pros were the only ones significantly faster on transitions and they have a clear tent and more help than the AGers.

Looking at doing it in 2016, but if I do another 1/2 next year it will be local.

Are you doing the Niagara 1/2 in September?

Originally posted by Fred D So I went to Kona slot roll down. It rolled to #13, I was 15th. I honestly have mixed emotions as I would love to do that race some day, but the thought of doing another IM in less than 2 months is simply not appealing. Good that I didn't have to make the choice. I am bouncing around the idea of IMMT, Chattanooga and Louisville as options for next year...

Canada off the table?

Louisville is now in October I hear.

Just curious, how many slots were available for your AG?
