Oh, it's gotta be brutal. Check this out:

Chris Hauth, 2nd out of the water, 5th off the bike:

FIRST RUN SEGMENT4 mi. (27:48)6:57/mile
SECOND RUN SEGMENT4.3 mi. (31:17)7:16/mile
THIRD RUN SEGMENT4.15 mi. (32:55)7:55/mile
FOURTH RUN SEGMENT3.5 mi. (29:30)8:25/mile

Zach Ruble, 15th out of the water, 8th off the bike

FIRST RUN SEGMENT4 mi. (27:14)6:48/mile
SECOND RUN SEGMENT4.3 mi. (30:29)7:05/mile
THIRD RUN SEGMENT4.15 mi. (33:15)8:00/mile
FOURTH RUN SEGMENT3.5 mi. (34:02)9:43/mile

Bree Wee, 4th out of the water, 1st off the bike

FIRST RUN SEGMENT4 mi. (33:07)8:16/mile
SECOND RUN SEGMENT4.3 mi. (38:13)8:53/mile
THIRD RUN SEGMENT4.15 mi. (40:32)9:46/mile

Now, just for juxtaposition, I grabbed Sergo Marques' numbers (2nd place, men). He's a 2:46 marathoner as part of an IM, and his 3rd segment ticked up by almost a minute per mile. By itself, you might attribute that to it being a hilly section of the course. But his splits stayed there, a minute or so more than his first couple segments.

FIRST RUN SEGMENT4 mi. (25:24)6:21/mile
SECOND RUN SEGMENT4.3 mi. (27:10)6:19/mile
THIRD RUN SEGMENT4.15 mi. (29:43)7:09/mile
FOURTH RUN SEGMENT3.5 mi. (25:45)7:21/mile
FIFTH RUN SEGMENT4.3 mi. (30:53)7:10/mile

Bob's in 64th place overall and 7th in the AG, assuming IM Live is correct. Was this a TT start like last year? If 7th is correct he needs to stay there to get a slot otherwise he may have to hope for a roll down.

Spoke with Aaron shortly ago, and he let me know that Shaun (CubeFarmGopher), had front derailler troubles in the last section of the bike.  He had to finish riding in the small ring, at very high cadence, since that is the fastest sections of the bike.  He'll be fine, but just cramping a bit due to the high cadences.

Hopefully the tracker is running slow cause Bob hasn't had  a update in a while and his pace dropped a ton from first to second segment

Man, Bob's 3rd run segment 1:06:36 (16:02 a mile pace)

That heat must be crushing him, too bad he was having a great day

Yeah, I was worried he really pushed the bike pace too much. He may be walking right now if that pace is accurate. Hang in there brother!
