I am so sorry- Please pass thoughts & hugs to Joel- and I wish him well in surgery & recovery. Once he is home- and able to "visit' BT -we'll be here.
Humbling for me-my bike crash injuries fro last week are insignificant......and as someone before me said-bones heal. Thankfully as a triathlete Joel will have both physical & mental toughness for a great recovery.

Unbelievable.  I'm so sorry for Joel and wish I could help.  I hope he recovers quickly.

I also hope that the woman who hit him owns up to her mistake and turns herself in.  What a scum-bag she is for leaving the scene.

Of course, my thoughts and prayers to you for a speedy recovery Joel.  Hang in there and you'll be better soon.

Let's all be careful out there folks.

YES!  Lets replace that Specialized with a nice Cervelo P3C.   If someone doesn't start a thread soon I'll enlist Chucky to help start one.

Hang in there, Joel. Those three months are going to fly. And like somebody else said, share what you learn while you're stuck at home. You're an inspiration to all of us, and I'm praying for you.

Wow, what an awful turn of events. Joel, I am so sorry this happened to you. You are an inspiration to many here on BT. Your giving nature and desire to teach and help others is such an example of all that is good about BT.

I wish you a speedy recovery.

Joel I don't even know what to say. I know you'll come back stronger than anyone could expect.

Be sure to tell the surgeons you only want carbon fiber or titanium hardware..... no steel. Hang in there buddy.

Sending my best to you Joel.

From personal experience, I know you will feel caged in with a cast on your lower half to restrict you from moving around. Just hang in there, the better you take care of yourself, the fast you will heal.

Joel:

Jumping on to this bandwagon late.  Been busy.

If you need a cop's perspective on this - PM with details.  Do not write up your version of the report (if asked) until you run a draft of it by a good lawyer (maybe an experienced cop).  Do not write out a statement if you haven't already.

Personnal Injury Cases can get messy.  Make sure you have EVERY benefit available to you - especially on a hit-and-run.

Wishing you nothing but the best!

Great job - -whoever got the plate!!!!

It's hard fathom how he must feel - to go from the high of Boston to this horrible accident. Please let him know that we are all pulling for him.

Any news on finding the driver?
