I doubt that I will ever be completely vegetarian and definitely not vegan but I would like to cut down on my meats and grains quite a bit and boost some other stuff in its place.

I'm vegetarian.  I don't feel like I'm missing anything.  I'm pretty much vegan, and we'll see if I make the total jump someday.

I have been paleo and vegetarian but my body seems to adjust better to vegetarian.  I just, last night, downloaded the No Meat Athlete 26.2 training plan as part of my regrouping.  Today was a start of my plant-based lifestyle and training.  I always feel better on a more plant based diet and it gives me a chance to play with my VitaMix.

Okay, I know it was mentioned a few pages back, but to all the Seattle folk: PLEASE, take the kings--I wholeheartedly support Seattle re-getting an NBA team--especially ours...just one condition: take the MaGoofs too...worst owners ever...

I am also a Canucks fan....and a Coyotes fan....and I was a Thrashers fan until they got all wonky and went to Winnipeg...which, was the place in which the original Jets left to go to Phoenix to become the Coyotes! Oh hockey, better than a soap opera. (but more expensive...)

Did an 8 mile run tonight; I kinda was guilted into doing it outside, after all, it was only 40 degrees here--practically blazing for some of y'all!

That is shorts and long sleeve shirt weather. Glad you got a run in. Of course next year when I am back in the South I am sure I will whine about 40F weather.I sent this earlier but phone was being stupid. I recently also read Scott Jurek's book. I enjoyed it am have made 2 batches of chili based off his recipe. I am reading a training with heart rate book, Macca's book, Crowley's book, QBQ: The Question Behind the Question, and debating about either rereading Lord of the Rings or reading Game of Thrones. I like to read multiple books at once, it keeps me more engaged.I missed my workout today. I am watching my great Nephew this week. I need to get back to my AM runs so that way I almost always get a workout in.

Good day everyone, I hope yours is going as well as mine. I admit, I am off from work today, so an 8-9 mile trail run is on the schedule this morning, followed by extreme relaxing and a trip to the running store with gift card in hand. New shoe time! First though, I wanted to answer the pressing Manatee questions of the day, Books:

  • The Divine Mentor - Wayne Cordero that TJ sent to me. If anyone wants it, please PM me. I found it helpful.
  • Iron War - Matt Fitzgerald. The story of Mark Allen and Dave Scott and the Kona race that defined an era of racing for many people. I'm not sure how much of the background stuff is true (I've heard different things), but the story itself was educational for me.
  • Seven Habits of Highly Successful People - Stephen Covey.

I haven't read a good book for entertainment in a while. I am trying out the kindle app on my laptop, but I'm just not sure. I think I have a 0 attention span when it comes to books.

Hockey: My DW and I became really big NY Ranger fans when we lived on Long Island. I can't stand the Islanders. Worse fans ever. Now that we live in Fl, I am a fan of the Lightning. But the Rangers are always #1 in my heart.

BTW, if someone sends you an "Inspire" and you want to reply, Hit the "Reply" button on the right side of the message. that should open a new browser window with their inspire list in it and you'll be able to type to them.

This confuses me...when I hit reply - it opens their training logs page..but I never see the message someone sent to me.  However, the little inspire box that opens has a "quote" in it - and I reply there.  Are people getting those replies?  I think so - but I can't see where it posts to.

We've gotten a ton a precipitation this week and then last night it got down to the single digits. Riding my bike this morning was a HUGE mistake. I didn't crash but had waaaay too many close calls. It was a sheet of ice everywhere. At one point I even got off my bike and walked it. I am sore from being tense. Anyway, I learned my lesson.

Yes.  This is book three of "The Cousins' Wars" series (War of the Roses).  Book 1 is The White Queen, 2 is The Red Queen and this is the final installment.  I loved The White Queen and liked The Red Queen as well.  This one is on par with The Red Queen so far.  So yes, I would recommend it
