Just for you Rudy...I kept it to 101 today.

Killin' me!  Nice ride.

I got 40 in today, but 36 degrees, gusty wind and pouring rain made it hard to enjoy by the last bit (was hoping for more miles, but couldn't feel my fingers or toes by the end and just called it).

I wonder if there's any biotech in HI…

Matt

Going to drop it off in the next couple days for TBT to first race of the season, here's 2014 race ready version.   I am tinkering with a longer straw on the A2/Z4 setup with a clip down on the side to hold the straw down outside the wind, but haven't quite figured that out yet.  Flat kit in the Torhans.

Very sweet bike Chris!
I use a rubber band tied at the base of my aerofil to keep the straw tucked (in a weak effort to avoid any RChung harassment)
The straw can then be stretched/pulled up to get a drink then it goes back to a more aero place

Congrats on the upgrade Rudy. I'm certain you worked hard for it and deserve it. Now get some R miles in...ha!

Hope you are digging out, Arend.

You are a tease, Salty, a tease...

Great looking setup Chris!  What do you think of the TriRig brake (is that new?)?

Arend, I don't know I maybe I don't know how to adjust the pads, but when I put a thinner rim like the H3 on it, braking power reduced a bit. Other than that no issues. I bought it used on ST at the end of last season so haven't raced on it yet.

Mostly back.  Decent hilly 45 miler saturday followed by a :20 run, then 11 mile descending pace run Sunday morning and 3700 in the pool in the afternoon.

Even with the health issues, managed to eke out a 100 mile run month.   First one in a long while

Rudy ever hear of the Iron Cross CX race?  It’s held in my back yard and has been on my bucket list for a while.  They have a 50k and 100k race and it is hailed as the states toughest CX race.

on my bucket list also.

The only problem with it is the date. i believe it coincides with The Providence Cyclocross festival and my anniversary.

But yes, i will do it one of these next few years.

Chris - that is a great looking bike and an incredibly tidy setup! Really glad to read that you are able to get back out there! Hopefully the forced R&R actually allows you to come back strip onager than ever in race day.

Nice job, Salty! Can't wait to read the particulars of the "good decisions" you made! Back before the race I was just about to post that you should suck it up and just try to learn from your arch nemesis, but then Dale chimed in with all of his so-called "logic" and "reason." (Heh).

Sounds like you were smart and listened to his excellent advice?

interesting - was interested in that as well. I naught a pair a while back when the white ones went on fire-sale with the intention of rebuilding my P2 from the ground up. Picking up the New Felt changed that plan a bit, and I am now thinking about trying them out on my Cervelo S2. it is obviously important to have some very good stoppers on that bike, so you have me rethinking that just a bit.

I'm really excited about my weekend training.  I managed a 10 mile run (at a reasonable pace for me) quite comfortably on Saturday.  On Sunday, I drove 90 minutes north to find some hills....and planned for a ride with as steady power as I could manage at my projected race power.  I did 66 miles and even though my body was ready to be off the bike, it seemed like it wanted to get off so I could run.  I had a great 4 mile run after the ride!  Long run, long ride followed by a short run = starting to feel good about my race.

That's a serious weekend effort - nicely done!

Great news Nicole, solid weekend.   Just a heads up....   70.3 worlds slots apparently rolled way (as in waaaaaay) down at Oceanside for most of the men's ags.  Read that that M40-44 slots rolled all the way down to 5:47 finish, just went and checked that's like 140+ AG......  Not sure about the wimminz, but in cae you were interested at all.   Concensus seems to be that there may be a big rolldown at St G as well.

The swim is ALWAYS a cause for concern when it comes to competing in a triathlon. This is the event for which you need to concentrate on RELAXING.
