1519 Cypress, Texas | Subject: RE: Racing Manatees - Better Together in 2022 So...in 2018 about 40% of the people I know were using Sufferfest, about 35% were using Zwift, and about 25% were using TrainerRoads.
Now the numbers look more like 45% Zwift, 30% using TrainerRoads, 10% using Rouvey, 10% using Wahoo System, 2.5% using FulGaz, 2.5% using BKOOL. My sample size of may be too small to be statistically significant, but those of the perceptions I had over the past several years. |

Expert 2811 | Subject: RE: Racing Manatees - Better Together in 2022 I'm on Wahoo. I loved The Sufferfest. Just before they sold out to Wahoo they started softening up the videos and lost some of the original edge. I did earn the knight of Sufferlandria last spring. I was part of the Zwift Beta group. It was ok, but it was like a long time trial for me, because I mentally can't lighten up. I find myself gravitating to the old The Sufferfest videos. I did some of the pro rides. I liked them, but not loved them. I've never tried any of the other platforms. |

If you notice that, please mention it here so that we can keep the Manateefest going. I plan to ping Alice in January if nothing happens between now and then, unless any of you are anxious to start a new thread sooner. |

Master 9705 Raleigh, NC area | Subject: RE: Racing Manatees - Better Together in 2022 Do any of you have plans for 2023 -- I mean beside our Lahti participants I had a nice talk with Coach Devlin this morning. Right now, my schedule is Assault on the Carolina (April 1), Race to Valhalla (gravel)(May 6), Loudoun Gravel Grinder (June 11), and Hot Doggett in July. |

I'm happy to see you are (apparently) enjoying Coach Parry. If you're not, at least you had a nice talk with Devlin Right now my plans for 2023 are kind of fluid, but for the first quarter I plan on doing short, hopefully fast, 5-10k races trying to work on speed. In May I have choo 70.3 penciled in and after that I've got nothing. |

To be honest, my training plan is nothing much. I just like having a plan. ETA: We have our Iceland trip at the end of July so I just wanted to plan up to there. I liked them, but not loved them. I've never tried any of the other platforms. I am pretty sure that when I did my bike fit in 2015 that what they put me on for part of the fitting was Swift. They were four virtual riders at slightly different speeds and the Bike Fitter told me which on to stick with. It was really fun and I came home for the fitting more excited about zwifting than about a new bike to fit me. That wore off fast when I got the fit data and started pouring though bike specifications. So for me I have just done TrainerRoads for training and Rouvy for Virtual Racing. I don't think my 2-1/2" x 2-1/2" screen on my SE iPhone would make some of the platforms with virtual courses very impressive. |

I hate short races like that BUT at the same time it might be fun & good training runs + not to mention 4 race shirts! Races are in Feb (for Valentines Day), June, July and Dec. |

It sounds pretty cool- select your race distance and wanted race result and it will let you know if you are on pace or not. You can select positive, even, or negative split and how to run hills. I think I’ll try it on my next 5 k. Is this something we can find on our watch's??? |

My LRS also puts on most of the races in the area, including all the Disney races, and they also have a race series consisting of 6 races: 3 5ks, a 4 miler, 5 miler, and a 10k to end the series. It costs about $200, so you do get a bit of a break on prices vs paying one at a time. But they don't give you running shoes! I'm really jealous of that perk! I did the series one year and think it really helped my "speed". Since doing long course triathlons my pace has gotten slower, so that's why my current plan is to do most of the races in the series. The series started this year, so I am only doing the last 3. They also have other 5ks not in the series that I may also do. |
