The statistics are the statistics...same on both sides - it just so happens that they discuss all of them in Canada whether you like it or not. Not only on CBC but also TSN... hockey,hockey,hockey... analyzed over and over again... there is no significant difference in the penalties...the Refs are consistently calling the penalties the same every game - the tone was set from game 1 in this series. What I find funny here is that the Wings can't take a legal hit and whine about it (along with their fans) and yet the Wings fans post disrepectful photos here... where is the class Wings fans? Does it make you feel better? It certainly will not influence the game.  And K, you're going to base your cheap shot argument not on what we all saw, but a compilation that Don Cherry directed be put together to reinforce his (and CBC's) anti-euro stance? Ever since Stevie retired, CBC and their toronto-lovin, tuke-wearin, looney-totin, bacon-eatin, molson-drinkin crew have been all over the Wings. You'd probably get more balanced coverage from Fox News or Rush Limbaugh. Sid's hot, Wings not. Repeat,I like the Wings,but all this bitchn and whining from the fans has to stop It is a known fact that Don Cherry has a thing against European players....if you weren't watching CBC or the Wings back in the 90's when they had the Russian 5, then you might not know. But he has some CRAZY pride for Canada and Canadian players....and dismisses most Europeans as being sissys. For some unknown reason, I can't see any of the pictures being posted above. What are these pictures showing? |

Curious to know whether it was as bad as ESPN's writers made it sound. And the PGH front office's comments when asked to comment, in back-to-back sentences: "Nobody respects the traditions of hockey more than Sidney Crosby," and "It was a young team celebrating its first Cup and some of the guys might have been a little late getting into the handshake line". How do those not contradict one another? Three demerits for anyone - wings or pens - that didn't shake hands after an epic series. |
