I was supposed to have plans on Friday evening - think I will run instead, here in VA. I have a 3-miler planned for that day anyway, so what's another couple of yards? I didn't know her, not even really on BT, but I have lost a relative long before it was their time to go, so my heart goes out to her children and her husband. This shouldn't happen to anyone...ever.

I'm signed up and will run virtually from north of the border.

My thoughts are with Christine, her family and all who are close to her.

I'm registered as well.

I'll run or try to run the last 5K of my 26.2 of my Ironman run in her honor.

Lucy and I went to IMFL in '06 to support Sue (socks) become an Ironman...fond memories of that weekend

The latest update is her brain had such high inner cranial pressure that she had another bleed ( I believe is what occurred). She is alive by machines only. Please pray for her family now.

There is more info but I'm not sure what all should be shared right yet.

The link is back on a previous page, and in tri talk "5k in honor of christine" thread.

Christine was a great person, eventhough I never met her.  She was always quick with support if something was bugging you.  She had kind words for you when you were in chat..  I wish I could have met her..  I too have registered for the 5K this Friday, to support her family..

Christine, I know you will be on my shoulder talking me thru my 70.3 this Sunday.  Be sure to hold on tight as I will need all the encouragement you can give me..

May your next IM in Heaven be your all-time personal best..

Great idea Spokes.

I did not know her, but everyone has great things to say about her and she has obviously had quite an impact on the people she came into contact with.  I'm in for the virtual 5K.

I will absolutely be part of the virtual 5k.  My heart is broken for her, her family, and all of you that knew her well.  In the year I've been on BT she often would stop by just to drop an encouraging note...she touched so many lives here, of that I'm sure.

I am so saddened by all of this.  I was fortunate enough to meet Christine at the Strawberry Century Ride when I was in Florida in March 2007.  We got to ride together a lot and had lots of laughs.

May God be with her and her family

I am having trouble getting the run registration to work, but I'll keep on trying.  Must be the computer...I'll try at work

How incredibly tragic... My heart goes out to her family - this must be so hard for them. Trixie, please let us know if there is some kind of direct fund set up to support Christine's family (PayPal, family trust, whatever). I'll do the virtual 5K as well, but would like to further support her family if possible.

Hello everyone,

I am the Race Director of the Hit the Trails classic 5k race series and President of the FishHawk Road Runners the group that organizes the races. Do not be concerned of the headcount I will adjust for out of state entrants.

I own the local running shop Hit the Trails that Christine frequented. Christine as been a friend of mine for a couple of years and a club member. She was always wearing a smile and I will miss her. Understand that I will do everything in my power to get her family the largest proceeds from this race.

I am overwhelmed by the support  in the form of registrations for our race. I have had over 50 people signed up last night on active. You people are amazing! She would be so touched. Thank you and God Bless.

just can't believe this!

I, like everybody else have been following this thread and it's just incredible how quickly this has happened!

It's amazing what a community this is! I don't know that many of you but I have seen so many of these episodes repeat over and over where a BT'er is in trouble from something trivial such as a serious break-up to something life-threatening like this and it continues to amaze me how this group comes together for each other!!!

I wish I had more time to spend on here and get to know more of you! You're all really a great group of people and great friends - whether I know you or not!

We love you Christine!
