YES SIR!!!! My favourite time of the year. I actually train in PREPARATION for this!!

My sTdF is actually a very big highlight of my bike season for me, now that I can't race anymore.

See you bet I am in.

Team preference

1. Caisse d'Epargne (need revenge from last year)
2. Columbia (Go Cavendish/Hincapie)!!!

Stages

21 stages and 2 days off (the only way to do it!!)
Volume: still calculating, will update.

BRING IT ON!!!

Ok.   My plan from the 4th to the 26th is 10 sessions for 25 3/4 hours.  I have a race during the middle of it, but I'm going to hold to the schedule!  I need all the help I can get.

SUPER THANK YOU MISS KITTY CAT!

I'm in. If possible I want to be on SKIL Shimano (if we're having one) and as a second Bbox. (They both have Asian riders )

I'm in for all 21 stages at 30 minutes each, so we're looking at a time goal of 630 minutes.

Cat! Hey, long time, no chat my favorite former CSC Saxo-Bank teammate! Sign me up again. Had fun on your team last year, so that'd be my preference again. But I understand you probably like to share the love! So I'll hit 100% for whatever team you put me on

P.S. Shameless plug ahead: I was featured in the WeightWatchers magazine for July/August here in the States, and I mentioned this challenge and beginnertriathlete.com in the article. Fun stuff.

Guess I have to put in a distance goal as well as the stage one, right?

21 stages.  250 miles for distance (I'm marathon training again, so not a lot of time available for the bike).

Here are my goals...6 stages, 400 minutes...I realize that that is pretty low, but I am out of town from July 3-8 and so won't have access to a bike...more importantly I will miss out on several days of post padding meaningful conversation!

Ok - we have just over 70 signups which means 6-7 teams at this stage!

The challenge starts saturday so hope everyone is excited and ready to go!

Just to cover some of the questions that have been asked:

- Yes distance/time in a race counts but there arent any bonuses for it

- All bike time counts including spin classes and trainer time...

Any other questions just let me know!

Cheers

SuperCat

I'm in! Goals TBD.

(See, Cat? I did sign up ^^^^. It was just so long ago that you forgot about it. LOL)

OK, I guess I need to set some goals, huh?

Ummmmmmmmmmmm. Ummmmmmmmmmm. I'm going to be doing some traveling during July, so let's go with:

8 sessions, and 180 minutes.

If July ends up being less crazy than I think it might, I'll raise this....

Thank you, SuperCat.

I have a silly question...

Is the goal to get as close to your planned SESSIONS or MILEAGE/MINUTES or BOTH?

Is it okay to go over the # planned (sessions) as long as you meet the goal or is it better to hit it without going over?

Thanks for the help!

Phew - I thought I had missed my chance to join!  I have 13 session scheduled for a total of 9 hours.

Since I know nothing of the Tour (sacrilege, I know!), if there is an underfunded team with outdated equipment and out-of-shape riders, I believe that I belong there.

Both and it is ok to go over all planned numbers but you don't get extra credit.  There will be a spreadsheet that lists whatever you put in for your goals.  If you have have 2 goals I believe they are averaged so if you finish 100% of your sessions but only 90% of your minutes you will end up at 95% complete.

Also, Garmin-Slipstream if possible, (2. Columbia-HTC 3. AG2R-La Mondiale)

Thanks!
