I did make it up to 30 miles last week, after dropping down to 14 for the tour of sufferfest a few weeks back. I have also reached the 80 day milestone for consecutive days running, which is roughly 76 days longer than my previous streak. So all in all progressing along well.

That's awesome. I made it 50 some days of consecutive running. When I did it I never felt better when I was on that streak. I really need to start at it again. Would mean adding two recovery runs each week. Probably increase my mileage 6-8mpw

Did you ever find a marathon to run?

Checking in: I'm up to 79 miles for the year.  Way behind some of you lot, and the bunny, but happily plodding along

No.  I'm going to wait and do the Yakima River Canyon Marathon on April 5th.  I'll feel better getting another 5 weeks of higher mileage in.  I passed on a race this last weekend to stick with my training schedule.

I've got a 10k this Saturday that has PR written all over it.  Smelt Run in LaConner is flat and fast if it's not windy.  Looking forward to Lake Samm.

112 so far, still at it.  I think the bunny is a little ahead of me but I'm gaining.  I'm steady at 20 mpw for now as I'm building in qualify running...one day of high leg speed reps and one tempo run.  Weather has been above freezing for a few days here so we've about melted last week's foot of snow and I actually ran in shorts yesterday!

I am plugging along on my April Marathon plan, did 18 miles yesterday.
I am really feeling good about that because I did it by myself, not with my running group.

I also worked 6 hours, got off early and went and did the run after work because I am working all weekend and it is the only time I could get it in.

Since I have gotten to the 16 and 18 mile distance I am starting to feel some soreness that is new in this journey.
Like after 18 yesterday I had leg, glute, hamstring, ankle, foot and toe soreness!
It all feels muscular/soft tissue but the left glute is Really sore still today.

Any suggestions for soreness that last days out from the long run. I don't run today but have a 5 miler to do tomorrow.

Hope you guys are getting in some good runs!

After about 4-5 months of feeling horrible and still not really knowing what was wrong they finally figured out I had STREP in my sinuses that was working it's way all over my body. After 4 rounds of incorrect antibiotics and 2 rounds of prednisone, the ENT FINALLY did additional tests and got to the bottom of it all! AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH. I have been miserable for months and am SO HAPPY to be feeling better. Today was the first run I have had in literally 3 months where I had energy to do some tempo work in the middle and run some mileage in the 7:30-7:40 range. Ended up getting in 9 miles this AM but could have ran another 5-6 if it weren't for my kids' sporting events starting at 9 AM this AM.
So, I am on the mend and plan to log more mileage in March.

Total for 2014 is 184 miles. Will hit 200 by the end of the February and at least 310 by the end of March I hope. Right on track since my training right now is only Olympic Distance.

Glad to hear you are all doing well!

(today I had a very crappy and short run, so I'm going to wait until next week to report on it.)

Had a great weekend of running that pushed me over 300 miles for the year.  Started with a 10k PR by almost 50 seconds on Saturday morning.  It was snowing lightly but not sticking to the road and no wind.  Sunday we got a ton of snow but I got out early in the morning and with my Yaktrax got in a beautiful 6 miles.  It's freezing rain today and a lot of trees and branches are coming down.  Might have to be a swim/trainer day until some of the slush melts.

Nice work, Steve. Sounds pretty similar to my race weather. I wish I would have gotten some of that snow on Sunday! It was cold rain here

Nice job with the race PR's guys and girls.! Fun to see the running paying off.

I am at 285, got 5 on the treadmill tonight. I am slowly building a relationship with the treadmill.......I was standoffish at first but I am giving it another chance

Just found this site a couple weeks ago. This is also my goal for the year. Would love to get in on this group as it would help motivate me to keep it moving this year. I can post my totals later tonight as some of the are on my log here but some are only on my runkeeper. Well a little about me, My name is Steve and im 42 yrs old in Dec of 2012 I started my weight loss adventure at 275lbs(197 right now). I have been pretty much a couch potato my whole adult life. A few months into the year I started running. By May I was totally bitten by the running bug. In Aug I did the Merrell down and dirty mud run 10k just to prove to myself that I could What a blast it was! So in Nov I did the Turkey trot here in the Detroit area. Well by the end of last year I was running about 20 MPW. That led me to the goal of 1000mi this year. I have big plans for myself this year. I want to run a HM in Sept of this year and my first tri will be in april just a sprint but if all goes well I will try to do a Oly before the end of the season. Well Heres to 1000mi in 2014!!!

Ok so I have 141mi total so far. Little behind because the weather here has been terrible for outside running. Can not wait till spring so I can get outside more this treadmill running is boring. 1000-141=859mi to go

I think quite truly for the first time I 'get it'. It's not just about the fitness. It's not just about the great little endorphin rush as you hit 5, 10, 15 miles...its not just the medal at the end.
