Did anyone see this CNN vid about the triathlete lady who was 400 lbs?  She's practically invisible now.

Darn it, Manatees, I found argyle compression socks.  They are super cute!  Pink, grey, and black.

I'm going to combine a couple of threads/posts here. I have been doing the Sufferfest videos for a couple weeks now. (I see that our own AK Jonathon is doing the Tour de Sufferfest). They leave my legs exhausted and sore. Which, I know, is a good thing in the long run but day-um. So there are a couple threads in TT about foam rollers and rolling pins. I have a foam roller but it is not getting to the spots that Sufferland is hurting! I see that Salty commented on the rolling pin thread. I've been thinking about getting "The Stick".

I guess I'm just asking for thoughts here.

Sincerely,

mylegsarekillingme

Do you need something more pin-pointed to a spot? Like a ball maybe?

And "Sufferfest"? I thought it was a joke the few times I saw someone refer to their workout. hahaha! I'll have to look it up now.

I must say that Sufferfest is the most grueling workouts I have ever done. I have done Insanity and some days I hope on the bike I almost prefer a round of Insanity. In all of my races or training or anything else these thoroughly kick my butt.

http://www.thesufferfest.com/

I am still amazed I knocked out a video followed by a little run last night. Gonna do it again in the coming week(s)

Got my aqua run on tonight.  Threw a few hundred yards of swim in to boot.  Thursdays are my really long day at work--TGIF tomorrow!

I must needs haz them!!! Definitely beat my purple and grey knee woolens (which are, however, VERY warm even wet).

JJ- - 2013-01-17 9:40 AM Well after a month I am still loving my new Tri Bike however I am just not pleased with the Adamo saddle they put on there. I have a Cobb on my road bike and love it. I should have gone Cobb on my Tri bike but didn't. Anyways Cobb Cycling is in my neighborhood so I went over there and talked a while. They suggested a Cobb Max. Really looking forward to trying it out on my next ride.

When I got my tri bike, I put a Cobb on it.  I loved it so much that I got another one and put it on my road bike.  I have the V-Flow Plus on both of them.

I have The Stick and that is good as well.  I got it because it takes very little space in luggage.  I actually like the foam roller better.

What are you trying to get at?  Maybe we can give you some pointers.

I know this sounds really dumb but maybe the guy is scared that he is going to have a girl keep up with him. Dumb I know but there are still men around like that.

Not dumb at all.  I've had guys do that on the bike.  Guys are weird, present company excluded.

I use a softball for very localized buttock/quad related issues. My wife frowns when I pull out the rolling pin, but I have only used it for beta testing at this point.

ETA: The softball I use is actually a pitching trainer ball. It is a fairly firm rubber ball with a fabric covering. It is awesome. If I can find a pic, I'll post it, as I think it is rather useful.

I take no offense. The male sub-species can be challenging at times. However, the female of the species is not always a treat. I'm going no further than that, we are all interesting in many ways

I think I would have been insulted to be excluded from weird. It's taken many years to hone my craft to this level of extragalactic weirdness.

YAAAY the Manatee Racing Report is here! Thanks, Janyne!

KEEP GOING, KATE!!!

GO BADGER JEN MOOSE!!! {MELON PRESS} healing for your toe!

GO MELANIE!!!

GO JO!!!

IM 70.3 Auckland relay on Sunday (since I am going forecasts, low of 60 and high of 72, partly cloudy with a 20% chance of rain and 23 mph wind)

Yep, I was reading all that thinking that was fine, a little chilly on the 60 end but no biggie HOLY HELL BATMAN 23mph WIND!!! That does NOT bode well for IMNZ! However, Jo is a stellar fishie and lots of run experience so you'll be right as rain even in rain.

I wimped out on my swim workout this morning. We had a cold front come through yesterday, so with the wind the temp was mid 30s. I swim in an outdoor ( heated) pool and although I've made many swims in similar weather, I just didn't feel like getting out of my warm bed today. Now I regret it as I always do.

Speaking of weather, dang! The vast majority of my home"town" Jakarta is under water ... it's normal to have some bad flooding during the rainy season but not most of the city all at once! My folks are fine, their house (which was designed by the truly mindblowing inimitable Mutti) is built a meter up from its land, the base of which is nearly a meter up from the road as well. And my dad has a big-azz SUV which ploughs quite nicely through water (don't ask how I know this). In any case, they're fine and mobile with all supply lines solid.

The last time Jakarta REALLY flooded--I think it was in the mid-'90s--my dad got around in a Zodiac boat and by helicopter. Heh. He's a little less mobile now than then, though.

Ah can't change it now, may as well not regret it! Sleep is good, too!

You probably don't need any clues about my feelings about swimming in cold weather.

Two hour's sleep (DH coughed all night and I feel bad that he is sick, but ugh!!!) and my inlaws get here for their four week visit today...which means I need to clean up house. So I'm thinking happy thoughts and making LOTS of coffee. And going to use the computer to read what's going on because my eyes are too tired to see my phone.

Oh, wow. I mean, on the scale of quality problems--that actually really is awful!

I can't deal with sleeping snorers and coughers--I snuff them out. And in-laws?!?! AAAAAAAARGH ... actually, I've always had fantastic SO parents (except for the Naked Family), but four weeks. Yikes. You need a {MELON PRESS} and that coffee, pronto.
