Ah, you know the little green toad was lurking the whole time! Don't you know it........ At least I do though, right? That's gotta give me some points somewhere on the UK scale. Metric, of course. Girl, your an 8 on the richter scale. |

Is it just a coincidence that we moved after Froggy showed up? I thought about PMing him but did not. I have added him to the roster how that he hopped back into our thread though. (I noticed that his training logs are as active as ever!) I think that he hopped back because of the 10k this weekend. He must want a Manatee Send Off! Not an interview just ... a casual meeting. She was totally game so I sent her a meeting planner and she just accepted it. Now I have no idea what I should say in the meeting!!!!! Help! WTH happened with the other interview/job op???? I can't get outta here and you have to juggle opportunities. What gives?!? Congrats!!!!!!!!! Well, it was between China and Korea and they think that my passion for sustainability is not a good fit for China (which is true) so I got the Korea one. I just made my transition this week. But really that's not what I want to do ultimately. And this other team is REALLY where I want to be (and have for years.) But getting on is the trick. I just don't want to throw myself at her when we meet up. I want it to be clear I am looking for an opportunity but do it in a smart way. I just don't know how to do that. Why? What do they have that makes you want to be with them? More important, what do you have that makes their team better with you on it? I think I sort of answered this in what I just wrote, but since I am working on being blunt and specific. Why? Because I want to be part of something that makes a difference in the world. Buildings are responsible for an overwhelming amount of energy consumption, raw material use, water consumption, and greenhouse gas emissions. We have the ability to limit the way we impact those things with small ECONOMICAL changes and I want to be a part of that. What makes me want to be on that team is the fact that they are the one department in the building that has a DIRECT impact on the above. I think the biggest thing I bring to the team is my passion and my desire to make a change. ^^^^She needs to know this^^^^ How you do that is up to you, but I believe you will make this known in the way that is most natural to you. |

Plus Ann-Marie has an awesome number and wisely told us, saving us time from having to stalk it down. OK, pod, so here's the situation: as part of my HM training plan, I'm to run a 10K race this weekend. I found a cheap one not terribly far away, but the problem is it is a VERY tiny race/field, as in last year only 27 people ran the 10K and the year before was only 39. Looking at the finishing times from last year, I will probably finish last unless I can edge out the 71 year old (if he races this year). On one level, I realize someone has to be last, but on the other hand, I have never been so certain that the likelihood of me being last is darn near 100%. I think this is my first stand-alone 10K, so I don't have any solid, previous times to go on, and if I go by my times in Olympic tris, well, I'm extra screwed. So just suck it up and go and race and be last? I love those those guys! They keep me oh so humble. And here in AZ there are soooo many of them First time always means a PR, right? If you think you'll have fun and it's just a training run, why not? And above all, just dooooo eeeeet! You know you want to.
Damn straight! I'm also not kidding that I'm very proud to be the Indonesian champion of the 3.8km/180km/32km distance triathlon. It's a rare one, but there you have it You actually finished one and i missed it. Dang!!!!!! |

He is proving to be a very funny and interesting speaker. Unfortunately, we have boring speakers this afternoon. So I will need this pod to keep me entertained this afternoon! Very cool about James Reese, he sounds fascinating; boo to boring afternoon speakers. He is awesome. I first started reading about him in Dead Men Do Tell Tales (forensic anthropology) and have since done a lot more. So very cool that you get to hear him! Does he sound like Ben Stein? Every economist sounds like Ben Stein. Bueller. Bueller? I was an econ undergrad. Here's a video of the stand up economist. I think it's hilarious, even if you don't. :p Watched, and...you're right. Funny guy. Now if only the audience would not have laughed so loudly, I could have heard him better |

Veteran 2441 Western Australia | Subject: RE: Mad Mutant Manatee Mentors 4--CLOSED GOOD LUCK TO ALL THE RACING MANATEES Confession time.I'm not racing this weekend, gotta help DH put his race car together for next weekend. I decided that this was more important than doing the sprint cause he hasn't raced in 3 years and next weekend is the last race meet of the speedway season. Hey Jen how did your bike auction go? Did they get a decent amount for it? Is that the last one they have to sell before you go shopping or do they still have more? Froggy nice to meet you. I ride a Giant Avail (the women's version of the Defy) mine is the basic model cause I am not yet worthy of anything more than that, but its still a good bike, and now that I have finally had it fitted properly I am enjoying riding it. I even passed someone on a Felt at my last tri, ok so she was stopped with a flat at the time but that's minor details that we don't need to worry about. I would say that probably 50% of the bikes at tris here would be Giants probably cause you can get a decent one without having to take out a second mortgage, not sure if its the same in the UK. |

The septuagenarian faculty member whose office is very near my veal pen is playing club/techno music, a far cry from his usual piano or guitar or classical tunes which he plays at high volume (for an office/work area).
