Don't worry...one day the Racineites will learn what it's like. |

Expert 986 Michiana | Subject: RE: Racine Vs. Steelhead HIM Challenge - Lake Michigan Rivalry O.K. Some rookie smack talk coming - will look lame to Marvarnet, Coredump and Birkierunner . I've adjusted my 1st HIM goal time from 6hrs to 5:45. Smoked the 1/2 mary on Saturday in 80 deg heat (1:45:44), took kids to soccer, mowed lawn, hosted post run party til 11pm, got up the next morning for a 23mi recovery ride. Yeah, I'm ready to leave some SOR's in my wake. Edited by mbmoran2 2007-06-05 3:25 PM |

I knew someone started a silly misinformed rumor that Steelhead was the race to do. I'm sorry you wasted your money signing up for it. Luckily I knew better and signed up for Spirit of Racine. Next time ask me first and I'll tell you which race is better. |

Some rookie smack talk coming - will look lame to Marvarnet, Coredump and Birkierunner . Actually, SOR team management is examining the smack-talking performance of Coredump as of late and is considering probation. Seems he may be resting too much on his Kona laurels.......oh, we're sorry, did we not mention we've got Kona vets on SOR? The waves and winds of Lake Michigan are mere ripples and zephyrs compared to the surf and lava field winds of Kona. While Steelheaders crumble under such conditions, Team SOR thrives...and gets stronger. Man, I wish the race was today (yes, I think I've had a little too much coffee this morning ) |

Champion 6962 Atlanta, Ga | Subject: RE: Racine Vs. Steelhead HIM Challenge - Lake Michigan Rivalry It may be true that SOR has some Kona vets, but unfortunately, a team with a couple stars can not compete with an all-star cast like the ones on Team Steelhead. As you notice, even our 6 hr types are correcting their times to go sub 6 because they are just getting that fast. I haven't seen any faster revision on the SOR team. Just making an observation... |

Champion 6962 Atlanta, Ga | Subject: RE: Racine Vs. But since we can't be nice, we will have to beat you into the real world. Trust me...it hurts US more than it hurts you! |

Sidenote ~ as a rookie, I am throughly enoying these posts and might need to volunteer at SOR just to meet Birkierunner! Thanks for the many smiles! |

Champion 6993 Chicago, Illinois | Subject: RE: Racine Vs. Steelhead HIM Challenge - Lake Michigan Rivalry brett Farve even at what 50 years old now is still one of the best QBs of all time though rest of the packers suck really really really bad (kinda like the slackers (aka team stealhead)). Steelhead has a broken link on there site and yet when you ask them about it they just send you the page the link is on and nothing about the link itself. Talk about a poorly run race. I am amased anyone even finishes the race at all. |

Steelhead sure likes to talk smack, but talking doesn't get you to the finish line any faster. |

Crystal Lake, IL | Subject: RE: Racine Vs. Steelhead HIM Challenge - Lake Michigan Rivalry Excuse me. I'd just like to make a little announcement. It seems as if the smack talking has been relegated to the elites among us who hope to turn in times in the sub 5 and sub 6 hour range. I'd like to speak up on behalf of those of us, on both sides of the contest, who have realistic chances of coming in at slower times. These races, and this challenge, is as much about us as it is about you guys/gals. It is about each of us pushing ourselves to our limits and beyond, WHATEVER THOSE LIMITS MAY BE. I know none of you are intentionally slighting any of us personally. However, some of the comments are coming very close to doing that. I want everyone to have a great race and to enjoy being part of this contest. Now, this may seem contradictory to the concept of a contest between SOR and Steelhead. That is not the case. While I hope everyone has a great race, those of you doing Steelhead can't even compare to how smoking hot the SOR team is gonna look. Especially those of us with Donkey gear. I'm too sexy for Steelhead, too sexy for Steelhead, so sexy you're dead. Y'all smell funny too. Nyah. |
