In for Florida 70.3.

Beach to Battleship sounds tempting.

Muskoka and flat- hmmm...

-anyway- looking at Steelhead vs Peterborough. Both are about the same distance away- sounds like Steelhead may be a little less hilly- maybr more of a forgiving course ( as well- a larger race). I'm nervous and need to get more experince on hills!!!

-any comments???

Thanks

-Helen
PS- interested in following others going thru the same first timers/ experienced triathletes 1/2 IM pain (oh I mean train...ing ) !!!

I am signed up for the Newfoundland race, but I am considering changing to the Musselman. The Newfoundland race has a 4K hill at the end of the loop, which is done twice. I have heard the Musselman is more forgiving.

I would go with the most forgiving course for your first 1/2 IM.

I just signed up for 70.3 CA, no backing out now! Man, they are expensive compared to marathons, hope they have a good goody bag!

I'm going to sign up for:

Racing for Recovery HIM in Monroe, Michigan (June 8)
Steelhead HIM in Benton Harbor, Michigan (Aug. 2)
Redman HIM in Oklahoma City (Sept. 21)

That is, if I can find the intestinal fortitude to actually SIGN UP for them. Which means I'll have to grow a pair before June 8.

Race is well-run, I thought, and that was my 1st Tri I did.  The one big issue that was reported was the news helicopter that was following the leader got too close to the bike transition area and blew racks and gear all over.

I didn't think Muskoka would fill up that fast I didn't have the money to register last week, I get paid on Wednesday. Boo-Urns, I geuss the upside is that now I have to train harder in order to qualify

I'm signed up for St Croix in May and Timberman in August.

I am contemplating doing Tupper lake in June and then either Mightyman Montauk in September or Bassman in October.
