It depends on who's forcast you look at.... accu weather saying humid with periods of rain at the present time with the photo having all rain but this morning it had a little cloud with some sun and no rain on the photo.  see below if its still the same when you click the link
http://www.accuweather.com/us/ky/louisville/40201/forecast2.asp?partner=accuweather&traveler=1&metric=0
And the weather channel is now saying 0 % chance of rain mostly sunny high of 81
http://www.weather.com/weather/tenday/USKY1096?from=36hr_topnav_undeclared

I think everyday it will change...and even at that when are they ever correct Undecided

I usually bring my own sharpie and do my body marking before heading to transition in the am. Do they do the standard race number on your arms and age on your calf? Anything special in Lousiville?

Like I said.....very little faith in weather forecasts.  It's a rare day when they get it right this far our, let alone one or two days out!   I don't know why they even attempt such futuristic forecasting!  I think most of us could look at a radar map and guess the weather just as good as "them".  C ya there!

Any word on the water temp?

If the water temp over 78 and uner 84 degrees and they are allowed, just not eligible for prizes...does this race go by that rule?  I think it is USAT rule 4.4...

Safe travels everyone!!!

Could be wrong and I will try to find it but I think in IM if you choose to use a wetsuit over 78 deg, you are basically DQ and get no official time and/or finish...

I can't imagine that is the case, but if anyone can find out I am sure lots of folks on the board would love to know.  I am a pretty solid swimmer and have race without a wetsuit, but don't plan on winning any medals so would gladly accept the wetsuit benefit if available.

You can wear a wetsuit when the water temp. is over 78 degrees but you are not eligible for the awards/podiums.  I believe that they still give you an official time, as it isn't a DQ, otherwise why would they even bother letting you wear one?  At any rate... if you aren't interested in getting to the podium it is always an option.

We have learned from this event that rules are subject to change at the last minute....I contacted them last week after I found on their website the actual rule that stated atheletes were given 17 hours after the start of "their" race to finish and they said sorry but the city of Louisville needs us to finish by midnight and now when you go to their rules page you get this message

Please consult the current Athlete Guide for your event when it becomes available for the most up-to-date version of the race rules. Please consult the current Athlete Guide for your event when it becomes available for themost up-to-date version of the race rules.

I printed out the rules they had listed before but its not gonna matter.

They were not training for IMKY.  Thread is in tri talk.  They were both hurt pretty badly.  One is still unconcious/sedated in ICU and the other had emergency surgery to repair a crushed artery in her leg but is at least awake and such.  They won't be riding bikes anytime soon.  So, yes...please, everyone...be careful.  It doesn't matter if you have the right of way...the car will still win.

Last time I did Louisville in 2007, it was a WTC event and they had their own rules that superceded the USAT rules, I specifically remember the wetsuit 78 deg line being one of them...not sure this time or if they are going to go straight USAT....

Like I said originally -  "Could be wrong"
