Sometimes the tracker is just stoopid slow at updating...

No bike splits posted for pros either, so must be the tracker

Yeah, not seeing anything consistent. Some racers are showing times for split 4 but nothing else.

I had to share this...

Took Mak for a run tonight while the boys picked up dinner. It was almost dark when we left, and I had Pandora playing on my phone. The stroller, wind, music put her to sleep a little after mile 1.  After 20min at home, I really needed a shower but didn't want to leave her in the stroller. I wrapped her in a blanket and put her on the bathmat beside me. She slept there through dinner, and I barely woke her up for pjs. Ohhhhh to be three!

I must admit, the IM tracker is complete and utter balls. That is all. Thank you.

First Monkey Zone was 46km – 58km.  Per the tracker, she made it past the 88.7km split so she made it through the Monkey Zone!!  I know that was part of her goal.  Glad to hear she made it that far.  Great job, Yanti!!

Eh, just run them through the washer, break out some fluorescent colored sharpies, and *boom* new running shoes.

Cute! We need a tub like that for outside. oh, and dogs who will relax like that

This was Pogo after his bath yesterday. He's the only one who gets bathed in the house. Mak was holding her nose at his "stinky dog" smell and wouldn't hold him in his towel. So I super-wrapped him, and Peppurr watched over him from his perch.

Aww, that's cute.

Gunnar loves getting a bath cuz that means he gets to play in the hose. I think I get more wet than he does. Silly dog.

So we know what happened to Yanti (what a story monkeys would have made!), but did Chris have a howling good time on Friday?

J leaves for DC today (through Chicago ).

We threw around the idea of packing his tri suit and getting in bike time while he's there. Might not be worth it without taking an aero helmet though.

The helmet would be the only aero thing about the whole set-up unless he brought along some clip-on aero bars too.

BTW, cute pics of Mak and of Pogo and Pepurr (love that name!!).

Speaking of bike sharing, we have a really active bike share program here in Denver.  Unfortunately it doesn't require a helmet.  It always scares me to see people wobbling and weaving around on a B-Cycle cruiser.  Then again, they're usually only going about 5 mph so they're not likely to do much damage to themselves or others.  Has anybody else noticed the phenomenon of people riding cruisers being less likely to wear helmets?  It's like people think that if they're not "serious cyclists" they don't need them or something.  Then there are the parents who make their kids wear helmets but don't wear them themselves.  Really, folks, what are you thinking?!  [end of rant]

That's hilarious!  At first I wondered if the dog in the tub was dead, it was being so still.  I love how the other dog stands watch, either waiting for its turn or maybe being a life guard for the other dog.

We have a hose that hooks up to the shower head in the tub so the dogs can get bathed with warm water.  Pippin used to be really afraid of the tub.  He got over his fear after we started feeding him there.  Now he hops right in, then looks all dismayed when he discovers that he's not getting dinner.  We still feed him there periodically to remind him what a great place it is.  Most of the time, I don't think much about it because it's so routine; then sometimes I realize, "We're feeding our dog in the bathtub.  Who does that?!"  But hey, it works.  Thank you, Pavlov!

Hiya Manatees

I haven't been doing great with training, but this weekend has gone well for me.  I did Body Back yesterday and a 2.25 mile run today.  Tomorrow is a rest day.  I am doing an obstacle 5k on Saturday.  Kind of nervous, but I'm not as concerned with my time as I am about doing the obstacles and finishing.

Hope everyone is doing well!

Congrats, Jen!!  I'm glad to hear that your weekend has gone so well and that you're signed up for a race!  Sounds like you've finally turned the corner.  I sure hope so--it's about time.

I do all of ours in the bathtub in winter too (no not all at once) they all happily get in and stand there because it's one of the very few times that they get treats. I did them all this weekend 1hour 30minutes to bath them all then 30minutes to clean up afterwards.

Find a mentor. Make a list of at least three people that you could approach for help, list your specific needs and then be courageous enough to begin asking.
