Master 6834 Englewood, Florida | Subject: RE: Mad Mutant Manatee Mentors 4--CLOSED Stacey, I hope that all is well with you. I'm going to paraphrase TW here, as she is the best I know for this sort of thing.: No matter how much the jerk gets under your skin, remember that YOU are the master of your mood and your life. The idiot doesn't matter, as he is but a gnat in your world. You are the better person and the bigger person and others will not decide how your day is. That is your choice, and I believe that you choose to be AWESOME!!!! |

I have to retire some running shoes. A couple pair actually but notably my marathon flats. I don't like saving stupid crap but they ARE my first marathon shoes AND I wore them 4/15/2013 so I feel as though I should keep them. Any ideas? Pictures. Then a shadow box commemorating the day, with your bib, your medal, pics of the shoes, pics of your family and friends, and any other stuff you want in there(the shoes could go in it, if it is big enough). Although with all that happened, I'm not sure how deep you would want to get on that. Yeah, that's a cool idea. Ima need a big azz box!
I forgot to mention, we got the COOLEST thing ever in our swag bags, a beer opener!!!!! Now THAT'S a keeper!! Very cool swag indeed! Ooh, the date is on there, too! At the Lager Jogger I bought TH a ring bottle-opener and I think it's his favorite thing I ever gave him. Seriously, you'd think I just gave him the world and it only cost $5! Hahaha! The 2012 Soma Triathlon finisher's medal IS a bottle opener. Might be DH's fave. The Ragnar medals are also bottle openers. Which is good because you need beers after 2 days in the car with the same 6 people. |

Science Nerd 28760 Redwood City, California | Subject: RE: Mad Mutant Manatee Mentors 4--CLOSED StaceyK - 2013-04-23 3:06 AM Got this guy at work that is driving me crazy. What is it about men who are under 5'5" that makes them such arrogant jerks? I finally got rid of the one that has made my life miserable for the last 5 years and then someone feels that he can step right in a take over where the other one left off. It has been a really crappy 9 months all round really (not just at work) and it is finally starting to get to me. I really need a holiday and looking at my calendar I might manage to squeeze 5 days in late in June but I dont think I will make it until then without using substantial amounts of Yanti's dental floss. It probably wouldnt be so bad but due to the craziness of work and study I havent managed many workouts in the last month or two and that makes my stress levels rise dramatically and my ability to tolerate d!ck heads very low. Anyway deep breaths and just keep going, one job at a time. {{HUGS}} I apparently missed something with the references to Yanti's dental floss, though. Super confused. |

Science Nerd 28760 Redwood City, California | Subject: RE: Mad Mutant Manatee Mentors 4--CLOSED Manatees, I am exhausted. The amount of running I've been doing lately coupled with my thyroid being out of whack again has me falling asleep on the couch at 7. I am not a huge fan. I don't think my husband is either. Stupid autoimmune diseases. Trying not to get caught up in self-pity, but it can get hard with chronic illness. |

We've run out of TP and all substances sufficiently similar to TP to be used as such. Just don't pee in the pool... |

First km today was 7.10 second was 5.59! not sure I can sustain that pace but I'm trying. I've cut the walk breaks down, no longer time them just take them when I really think I can't bear it any longer and only thirty secs breaks. Pretty happy - Andrew says it can purely down to the one week of primal move - crawling and rolling! Well if that's the case I'm in...if not I'm just getting faster - either way I'll take it. Nice work! |

That workout was NOT worth suffering through even for toilet paper. I'm working through Sheila T's Swim Speed Workouts 16-week progression--the very cool part is giving her feedback live as I go through it and getting it back from her. The horrendous part is actually doing it ... ha ... by the end of the first week I'd renamed it the I Hate Sheila T Program. Now it's officially upgraded to the I REALLY Hate Sheila T Program. Can't wait to see what it becomes next! Last week fully 1000m of the 4000m "long" workout was fly, although broken up among swim, drills, kick, etc. This week "only" 850m of it was fly, but ALL SWIM. &$%# $&%!!!!!!! Even I don't like fly THAT much. And it was all in the main sets (2500m) so it was like 1/3 of the major workout was fly. Sheila, meet dental floss ... I have noticed that butterflies cannot swim at all. {{snort}} Now I need more coffee! |

I know it would at least make ME laugh. Sorry it's been such a rough year. I think most of us have been there, so let it out when you need to. And lowered number of workouts means raised stress for me too. Even walking around the block helps most times. Hope life smooths out soon.

Pennsylvania | Subject: RE: Mad Mutant Manatee Mentors 4--CLOSED jobaxas - 2013-04-22 7:51 PM I just booked 9 days annual leave.... Cairns in June - not racing but meeting up with 30 Macca crew and the man himself. I decided as I am up there I'll volunteer - I've taken the 5-10am shift which I believe will be wetsuit stripping and sunscreen application I have of course asked Macca to get me some kind of VIP ticket so I can schmooze with his missus! Noosa in November - I will go up Thursday night. On Friday there is a swim race 1000m surf swim - I'm in for that, probably come last as it's the guns like Coach Johnny who race in it. But whatever what fun! The actual Triathlon is Sunday - I'm swimming for a team. The Tuesday is a public holiday so I will come back Tuesday. Thailand in Nov/December - Fly in on the Wednesday, Thursday and friday training with Macca and co. Saturday socialising. Sunday a hot humid 70.3, after party which puts all others in the shade apparently! Fly home on Monday! Now the common theme here is that I'm not with DH nor Artemis for any of these BUT I am planning a week-10days in January in New Zealand. We will go watch Macca race in Wanaka then tour around NZ for a week or so. Oh no doubt I'll end up volunteering at that race too. What a big and exciting year I have planned! Last night was piglet Andrew training. Wow I did deadlifts with 40kg. Who knew! Lots of core work last night and swinging of kettle bells. In fact I am now officially a Swinger...mmmm. Wow, lots of good things on the horizon for you, sounds like such fun and excitement! Congrats on becoming a swinger?! |

Heck with the dental floss, cover the munchkin in gravy and sic the mastiffs on him. Takes care of the issue all around! Short guys, hmmppf. Glad your doggies were able to cheer you up a bit on your walk/drag. |
