I haven't been doing great with training, but this weekend has gone well for me.  I did Body Back yesterday and a 2.25 mile run today.  Tomorrow is a rest day.  I am doing an obstacle 5k on Saturday.  Kind of nervous, but I'm not as concerned with my time as I am about doing the obstacles and finishing.

Hope everyone is doing well!

Hi Jen it's great to see you. You aren't the only one who hasn't been doing great with training (pick me) but starting to get back into it.

Good luck with the 5k, surely if you can dodge the obstacles created by E then you'll be right

Jen, You managed our mud run a couple years ago, you should be fine on these obstacles because Body Back should have you good at the cross training necessary to complete them.  Go & have FUN!!

Since it might be a few days before he has time to pop in, I'm going to throw in a CONGRATS to Jonathan TX on the cute little bundle they added to the family. The boys looked thrilled/intrigued to have a little sister.

Seems my teeth weren't the only crash casualties. I just had to order new sunglasses to replace my new sunglasses. In Jason's rush to check my face, he put my new Ventouxs down...and they probably were knocked into the mud. When I checked with LifeTime coordinator, no glasses turned in Of course, we found out Tifosi is discontinuing them! I had to go hunting for a pair "near" the Performance price. Boohoo

Erin - Yes, we had a good time, I hope you did as well. As some of you may know, Ann is NOT a running fan, so to see her power through and finish with a smile is really cool to me. I am so proud of her.

Darren - New shoe time is always enjoyable for me. Are you trying anything different?

Jen - Great to see from you, I hope that you are getting to enjoy whatever training you may have going on. Do what you can and don't worry about the rest.

Jonathan - Evidently congratulations are in order!!! Enjoy it, drink it in, and have fun. It is over before you know it.

Yanti - Great job this weekend. It is impressive that you were able to see the best course of action was to stop the action. Long term outlook and all.

Randee - I hope your vacation is enjoyable, relaxing, and as full of fun as possible.

Janyne - I hope you are progressing and things come back around for you as quickly as possible. Heal up!!!!

Enjoy your week my friends, hopefully yours is full of fun, frivolity, and foolishness.

Well we had the cookout at Coach's last evening. It was fun to see the group again and share some laughs. Coach didn't set up the video camera as he'd discussed but he did ask everyone to talk about their experience with the group. Most talked about the benefit of the group and the additional resources to which we'd been introduced. The newbies discussed how far they'd come. I didn't have much to add so I didn't say anything. Then Coach gave out certificates to each of us with one word he thought described us. Mine was "resolute". He mentioned that I have room for improvement and that I am steadfast in my training. Interestingly he never discussed my "room for improvement" during training  Therein lies my confusion. So driving home there was more discussion whether I would stay with him, switch to Michi (who was there, interestingly) or go it on my own.

Also some discussion with DS2 this weekend about our attempt to BQ for 2016.

ETA: Coach also joked that he was going to have me give a talk next session about what NOT to eat before a race

Ever notice that girls know exactly how to transfix daddy as soon as they're born?

No kidding! While my sister was pregnant with my niece my BIL was really nervous about rasing a girl. He didn't know how he'd relate to her. When she was born she melted his heart and is the apple of his eye.

Find a mentor. Make a list of at least three people that you could approach for help, list your specific needs and then be courageous enough to begin asking.
