HA!

So who is racing this weekend. If you're not racing, please share with us your bucket list.  Include at least one race and one no-race related event.

while you were passed out drunk in mexico..... you forgot to answer this.

I do alot more than SBR, and I have a full time job! Tongue out Besides having to go to Germany 2 or 3 times this year, I am trying to take the whole family to San Francisco this spring break, and I am meeting with the Rabbi tonight to organize my daughter's BAt Mitzvah later this year.

No race plans.  Non SBR goal - a garden.  I've had them in the past but since kids and SBR ;-) I have neglected that hobby.  So the seeds have been ordered and I hope to get peppers and tomatoes started this weekend.  I also want family involvement w/ the TLC of the veggie patch.  Ahem - that means you too Mr. Dalessit or I'll swap that new bike for a cute garden helper.

Not hitting the pavement, but hitting the SAND at the Surfside Beach Marathon in TX on Saturday!

Plan is to run, walk, run, walk, walk... a great deal of walking will be going on as I am completely untrained for this one. Just going out there to have fun and check Texas off the list since we'll be flying to Houston anyway on our way to visit my youngest daughter, her husband (home on leave from Afghanistan) and grandson. We'll be hanging at the beach for a few days while they visit his family in Alabama and then we'll drive up to Leesville, LA to visit and celebrate grandson Brayden's first Bday! I am so excited to see them all! The marathon should be fun too.

One of my non SBR goals for this year is to summit Mt St. Helens and Mt Adams.  I'm going to get there by getting in fantastic physical shape and learning some new mountaineering skills.

Wow Roni - awesome non SBR goals.  Have fun in Texas and visiting family.

John - happy to help.  Stay away from summer (and springbreak) at all costs.  We are the same way w/ crowds.  Scrapped the CA layover before Hawaii b/c of it.

Sept is great - right after school starts up.  Oct is nice too and the first 2 weeks of Dec.  Super fun with all of the Christmas decorations up.  May might be quieter too but we haven't been then.

My other piece of must do advice - book early for dining reservations esp character meals b/c even in quiet times they fill fast.  Character meals are a relaxing way to meet characters instead of standing in long lines.  And you can always cancel a dinner res.  There is nothing worse than 5pm, hungry kids and no place to go!!!

No racing this weekend, unless you count racing after my nieces when I babysit them this weekend!

I'm having a big bday this year (30!) and my goals are to work through my bucketlist of 30 things to do. I made this list last year and have only done 4 so far. oops!  I'm definitely not going to make it before my birthday in April, so I'm giving myself until I turn 31 in 2013. Some of the things on the list are attempt a Guinness World Record, kayak on the Chicago River, work through a cookbook and have high afternoon tea.

Good meds make a world of difference.  Finally got a decent night's sleep and I'm feeling much better today.  I am registered for a 5k Sunday, but I'm waiting to see how I feel Saturday before making a final decision.

Did you say yours was allergies?  I've been sick all week and pretty sure it's just early allergies, but still sucks nonetheless.  Coughing so much my body is sore.  But since it's just allergies I'm going out on the bike today, get to the top of a hill, cough for a minute or two, rinse and repeat for an hour or so, good times...

Good luck, racers! No racing for me this weekend.

My non-SBR goal for 2012 is to take the kids to Grand Teton and Yellowstone NPs. I've wanted to go back since my first trip there over 10 years ago. I will get there by taking a ridiculously long road trip, which will ruin my training for Portland, but it will be worth it!

Pardon my drug-indiced rant.  My special treat for the day was another visit to the doctor and more drugs.  Add mine to the list of sick households.  I am going on four days of cough-interrupted sleep to the point that I wake up every 30 minutes to an hour in a coughing attack that leaves me out of breath.  I sleep in my recliner because I can't breath laying down, and I can't even watch Family Guy because it makes me laugh - which starts the #$*& coughing again.  I have, however, taken in a couple of episodes of Squarebob Spongepants with no ill effects.  I am also beyond tired of that #$*& Whitney Houston song that has played non-stop on every news show since Saturday night.  If she had seven number one hits in a row; could ya play one of the other six?!?  I owe my wife a million thank-you's for taking care of me and our son all week by herself.  But I don't even have a Valentine's Day card for her since I haven't been out of the house other than to see the doctor.   She says she is ok with that.  I definitely married well.  As did U because Q is awesome.  Not that it helps your situation, Doug, but back when I did OM we met at a local college campus.  Kim, how 'bout a Valentine's Day pic in the new pink top?  I think that's all I got (to borrow a phrase).  I'm off for another round of codeine-laced cough syrup.  I hope everyone and their kids stay well or get well soon.

David, I am glad you are feeling better.  This is all I've got!

Tony, it was me with the allergies.  I have kicked that darn cold, however and only let it get me down for about 2 days.  But my nose, my nose!!!  I sound like Marcia Brady!  Argh.

I thought it was, and so did my doctor the first time around.  I never developed a fever, or had chills or sweats; just lots of drainage that turned into a sore throat and a never-ending cough as it went down into my chest.  But after steadily getting worse for almost a week, I went back yesterday and got a Z-pak and cough medicine.  24 hours and two rounds from the z-pak later I am feeling a million times better.  I'm still coughing occasionally, and it still hurts because I'm so sore, but most of the drainage is gone and I should be back at work tomorrow.

Feel better and I hope all goes well with your ride.

Nope, got 15 minutes in and it was just too hard to breathe in the cooler air, turned around and went home and drank some tea.

Kids are good age John. Plus, yours are gamers. We took the girls last year(3 1/2 & 5 1/2) Sarah was a wee bit small for the long days. Disney World is MASSIVE compared to Disneyland though. BE PREPARED!!!

My non SBR goal for 2012 is to get away for a big overseas holiday, anywhere interesting will do, maybe Malaysia or Vietnam?

Breaking news: the biggest triathlon event organizer in Australia has been taken over by WTC!

this means WTC now controls the Noosa Triathlon - 3rd biggest tri in the World - and also the Cairns iron distance event which was a Challenge event, not sure if this will now become Ironman Cairns??? My next event, the Mooloolaba tri is also part of the package and is also an ITU event - could be exciting?!

No racing and contemplating nixing my HM next weekend.  1.) I'm not trained for a HM, 2.) this last week has gotten the better of me and my legs are toast, and 3.) don't want to risk disrupting the IM plan.

John- You and the kids will love WDW.  I found the book "Unofficial Guide to WDW" to be a fantastic resource.  Planning can be overwhleming but that book really helped me figure out what I wanted.  Also, huge fan of their touring plans.  The days we followed them were amazing.  The days we didn't were severly lacking.

One non SBR goal for 2012???  Take a firearms course and learn how to shoot.

No racing here.  My non-SBR goal for 2012 is to get my wife back to the health club for swimming and/or whatever.  She's been away for a couple years because of problems with her shoulder - ended up getting some rotator cuff surgery and has been doing rehab for about 1.5 years now. I'm thinking to make the big push in another couple of months.

Oooh, love that one!! I'd love to take a women's gun handling class (they offer them here) but I'm unwilling to give up an entire weekend or weekend day. I've learned how to handle a shotgun through training my dog for hunt tests (and hunting, although I will never be confident enough, I don't think, to handle my dog and a gun with live shot and actually try to shoot a flying bird -- fortunately I have many friends who will shoot dinner!).

No racing here either, and I had to think long and hard about non-SBR goals. But I did, which relates to the above! My other non-kid hobby is training my dog as noted, and we have moved up to a new level of testing and will be running more challenging tests this spring and summer. What the dog has to do is quite advanced, IMO, and the handler (me) also plays a huge role in things -- so my goal is to pass some of these tests this go-around. Although even if I don't, I love love love the journey and the friends I have made along the way so it's nothing but good!

And one more, although this is sort-of SBR related... I want to be able to run the entire Wilderness loop at Cougar Mountain without being 100% convinced I am going to die.
