Can't seem to find your RR. Hopefully you're not still sleeping?? Or maybe Yanti's being a bad influence on you! Still working on it. I had my APART (Annual Performance for my flight duties test) this week. Was studying aircraft systems and all of the other things we have to know. It delayed me some. Wwwwelllllll......I *guess* we can cut you some slack since you were working and all. Wouldn't want you getting demoted or anything. But be sure you finish up that RR before you get back to working on your TdF Challenge goals. Since I'm on the other team, I have absolutely NO vested interest in you getting behind on those goals. |

Member 2689 Denver, CO | Subject: RE: Manatee Monkey Mentors SHUT (Poptart or pet pic bribes considered) Finally have time to catch up. Melanie - Enjoy your vacation and especially the ice cream!! Your dad is pretty darn fortunate to have a daughter like you to help. You have every right to be annoyed with the slacker brother, even if being annoyed doesn't change his contributions. Kate - Good job on the diet and fun that you're seeing results so quickly! Can't blame you one bit for stepping on the scale. I'd be doing the same thing. Stacey - So great that your knee isn't hurting, you got out for a run, and (bonus!) you're happy with your pace. You should be really proud of yourself! Ann-Marie - Heal up quick, Buttercup! Jonathan TN - A person can never have too many pairs of shoes. Darren - Happy happy happy!! Hope your b-day is marvelous. Salty - Another little extra shout-out to you for making it to and deciding to compete at Nationals. Sending lots of cool and speedy thoughts your direction. Have fun with that mister! That totally made me giggle, even before I saw your Chippendales comment! And last but not least, GOOOOOOO MANATEES!!!! And don't forget to have a little fun along the way. I think/hope I got everybody.... |

Master 10208 Northern IL | Subject: RE: Manatee Monkey Mentors SHUT (Poptart or pet pic bribes considered) Originally posted by Asalzwed Yeah hahah you could qual with a 5000 and a 3000 if you so desired. Interestingly enough, we are gunning for a win with distance and some field events (meaning scoring points) which from what I read, would be historical. Usually it's the sprint and mid distance that creates a T&F win. It's not just about the "podium" in T&F as it's scored 10-8-6-5-4-3-2-1 so, that means that getting 8th place is not just important to get A point, but it means your competitor doesn't get a point, ya know? But yeah, no one likes to run the 10000 but we've got a lot of brave (and fast) women who are willing to. Most of the fasts are also racing the 5000 the next morning so the 10 will be run slower than usual. And perhaps now you take me seriously about dfl? Had a decent idea about that. Probably doesn't help at all, but with your competitive nature and stepping it up when it counts you'll still do a lot better than being "just a turd out there". (See who gets that one! ) |

Goals for Oly: Mostly not limit myself. Not lollygag on the swim--I can go faster than 'easy pace' and not die. I proved that to myself last week in the pool. Bike--no real goal here, feeling okay. Run: not limit myself. Training with my friend has proven that I can run faster, longer than I give myself credit for. I am not going to go super crazy or anything, but just have that mindset that "I can". How cool is that?!?!? Pretty awesome stuff, I hope you have a great race. Yeah, I'd say getting a glimpse of your potential and realizing you haven't reached as far as you can reach is an extremely cool thing. Big smiles!!! |

Veteran 940 Citrus Heights, CA | Subject: RE: Manatee Monkey Mentors SHUT (Poptart or pet pic bribes considered) This plan calls for one serving of starch in the morning--either brown rice or quinoa--with protein and a veggie. Fruit is also allowed once a day--morning only, then its protein and veggies 3 more times through the day at least 3 hours apart...its really simple. I had actually forgotten about eating Brusselsprouts for this--sad, because I LOVE them! They are being a dinner item tonight! I will check out that website--I like lots of ideas. |

Member 2689 Denver, CO | Subject: RE: Manatee Monkey Mentors SHUT (Poptart or pet pic bribes considered) Speaking of saddles, I have a saddle question. Every time I get out of the saddle, I have to shift around when I sit back down to avoid pinching the insides of my thighs. The shifting mostly consists of getting really forward on it, then sliding back to get comfortable. It's pretty annoying, especially when I'm riding on city streets where there's a lot of stopping for lights. My saddle is a pretty basic Specialized women-specific one with a cut-out that's moderately comfortable, but I wouldn't say I'm crazy about it. Think I should look into another saddle with a narrower nose, or is this typical? Edited by laffinrock 2014-07-11 1:28 PM |

Couple things that come to mind are if your shorts are pulled up snug and if your hips rock a lot while you pedal? Looser short material or if they're just out of place and I might have some trouble getting back into the saddle. |

I've lost a little weight since I bought my shorts so they're all fitting a little looser than they used to. I'll give that a shot before looking into a new saddle. Thanks. |
