Janyne - I'm right there with you on the soda!  BTW, I think your race lists may be a challenge if you do them again this year.  We've got quite a group going!

I plan to!

It's super helpful if people add their events to their 'planned races' of add them to the top part of their training log.

At any rate, and I don't think that we have any Racing Manatees until the 1st.

Heading out for my run, finally. I was hoping it would hit 30 today, but that ain't gonna happen. So I need to get out before the wind picks up and the temperature starts falling.

Even though there was a false alarm a month or so ago, my Aunt Flo decided to make a real visit for Christmas. Lovely. So, I went from premenopausal to menopausal (no visit for 6 months) to PMS. Yikes. No wonder I can't sleep.

Enjoy?  The "brisk" KS weather that is. Where are you at? My husband's family is in KS

Aunt Flo...Sorry, nothing to enjoy there. :/

I am about an hour northwestish of Wichita. Where is your husband's family? And it was "brisk."

I would hereby like to request the designation as "Arctic Manatee", please. This group inspired me to get off my but and do my Insanity workout, Insanity Plyometric Cardio Circuit. I still felt decent after that and had daylight so decided to go for my run. Screw the dreadmill, lets go outside. Was aiming for a simple mile run, but kept going and felt good. Did 3.5 miles in 34:59 in -22F temps. I was going to take a picture when I returned for prroof but my phone battery died. I will get a pic next time, i think i will go for another run or two while I am on vacation outdoors. I will strive to bring new lows to this group, at least temperature wise.

They're in Shawnee. And they looove to come to AZ in the winter! They get out and walk for at least an hour a day. And for the month they're here, I get sitters for my long runs. It's great!

That's great!  When it hits 0F I am inside workout wise.  I work outside for the most part and that is more than enough true cold for me.

Only indoor "strength training" today of me do to an unfortunate lack of planning laundry wise.

Ok. If you can do that, I can get out for a bike ride in 55* weather. Thanks for the push

Man I go to bed and when I get up you guys have added 4 pages on me, I'm never going to keep up.

My husband is already thinking intervention because I'm addicted to this forum. Now if only I could get addicted to training too. 100+ here today and the biting flies are out in force so I'm going to whimp out and do intervals on the dread mill.

Merry Christmas everyone. I hope that you have a great day and eat too much and drink too much and get lots of great presents from Santa. He brought me $$ so I can go shopping in the Boxing Day sales (think black Friday but not as good) and get what ever ilike.

JJ I was wondering the same thing. I have managed to put mine in but I'm not sure that they are in the place that Jayne meant but I did it by going into my training log and in the middle just above your daily entry there is an orange RSS button. Just below that is the word edit. I clicked on the edit button and added them in there and now they show up in the blank box above my training entries.

Jayne if this isn't where you meant can you let us know.

WTG, I love the feeling after a workout but I also love how often excuses get in the way of doing a workout.

Arctic Manatee it should be. That is incredible. Have you thawed out yet? 30 minutes after my run this afternoon, my arms still looked sun burnt. LOL I barely had enough dexterity in my fingers to press the large cup of coffee on my coffee machine.

If you are new to BT, or even if you have been around for a while, I encourage you to poke around. While the forums are really helpful, I have found real value in the logs.  Not just the training logs, but the nutrition, equipment, and race logs/Race reports as well.  You may want to play around with your "Settings" a bit, if you want more or less privacy.  Also, there are some interesting things to be found on here, including this podcast.

At any rate, and I don't think that we have any Racing Manatees until the 1st.

At the top left of your training log's center column (next to the calendar, below the RSS logo) is an edit button.  I put my races in the planned races but sometimes the event is a 100k bike ride or Tour de Cure or something that is more of an event than a race, you know?  Anyway, if it's somewhere that I can find it, I can keep a weekly listing of who has events on the upcoming weekend.

mn_av8or - 2012-12-23 7:53 PM Also how many of us are new to this group and how many are returning to "the pod"

I think that we are about 50-50.  If I didn't miss anyone, that is!

Salty, Chris, Jen, TJ, Ann-Marie, JoGo, Kate, Jo, Felicia, Janyne and, of course, Yanti are returning.

Jonathan, Johnathan, Stacey, Marcus, silverback25, Chad, Darren, Tom, Erin and Michael are new pod members.

Thank you for the summary!  Lots of new people.  I'm excited to get to know all of you.

I am heading off to Wisconsin later today.  Already determined that I can join a gym near my parents for $25 for the week.  I'm too much of a wimp to run outside there now.  My lungs couldn't handle it and I don't have the right clothing for that.
