Really... REALLY... you are NOT going to work out next to him? What an idiot. Like a two year old tantrum. Completely ridiculous with what is going on.

Danni rocks. I don't mind Joe either, and so what he said he hates lawyers... it was just a comment at the moment... but it is a game, and getting in your opponents head works too. He did.

I don't know if they are just playing up Jillian loosing her mind or what. She has been working with Bob for a long time, they know where each other stands. But we are deep into the season, and these guys just not doing it is silly. Go home and get back the people voted off... I'm sure they would jump at being back.

I think Jillian’s tirade was genuine. I think she was genuinely frustrated that the other trainers aren’t being tougher and less tolerant of what she perceives as laziness and excuses on the part of some of the contestants.

I don’t blame her. It annoys me to no end that Bob and Dolvett, in particular, will spend what seems like an inordinate amount of time outside the gym trying to beg and cajole one of the contestants into coming back, while ignoring the contestants who are already inside, and who are committed and working hard. Why should Danni, Joe, Jeff, and the others lose one minute of Dolvett’s attention so that he can go and, once again, plead with Gina to stay? Screw her. If she wants to walk out of the workout, good for her. If she’s so easily thrown off her game, it doesn’t help her in the long run to try to resolve her weight loss issue, but that doesn't have to be everyone elses' problem.

In the early weeks of the show, I get it. It’s new territory for everyone, and it takes some one-on-one time with the trainers to get some people to begin to shed their baggage and adapt, but at this point, it’s just being a drama queen and a crybaby. It’s not fair to the others to lose their trainer for half the workout so that they can go and beg someone not to leave. It’s a competition for goodness’ sake. If she walks out of the workout, let it be her choice to go and she can get on the scale and take her chances and be accountable for her decision.

/rant...

Totally - Dolvett and Bob are way too easy on Gina. She's just walking away to get attention (which unfortunately worked with Dolvett), and she clearly can't communicate at all when there's a conflict. I wanted to see Jillian go all crazy on her, but she just let her go. I don't blame her for being pissed (Jillian) - the whole thing was so much manufactured drama.

Still love Danni. I loved that during that whole drama with Jillian and Bob shouting at each other, Danni was just running away on the treadmill in the background the whole time (along with some of the others) without stopping.

Why did Bob & Dolvett let Gina off the hook, so Dolvett said he hates lawyers, Joe snickered and said me too and Gina freaks out on Joe?  I would have pressed her on the real reasons she was leaving the workout, and it's not because of Joe.  She's a drama queen, who is using any excuse to walk out on a workout.   I can't wait for her to hit a low week, then get booted.  She has been rocking the weight loss, but she's a bit over the top.

Danni is a stud, I hope she takes it all.

Totally with you... and everyone else too.

Ya, I do get it. They have been saying "I can't" for what ever reason for a long time.... but ya, she's a drama queen. We make choices in life, make yours. You want to walk out... let me know how that works out for ya.

And yes, the trainers understand that, they have to push, but not break.... but at this point, it's not their job to beg them to stay... and ya, it's coming down to the wire and those willing to work deserve time too.

Danni is awesome whether she wins or not. I hope good things come to her.

And last complaint... it's not enough we have to watch weigh in for 45 minutes... and we have to listen to why they voted and how they will miss them... then listen for more explanation at the beginning of the new episode.... But Jeff straight up said when it was just him before the vote he has to think of his competition... and then this week tells everyone straight up voting him off had nothing to do with game play... I don't even mind if it was game play... but the guy just seems like a weasel.

The kids are just pure awesome. I'm sure logistics are difficult for them to be "on the show"... but I really really hope this does not end, and they keep taking on kids.

Yeah, it became startlingly obvious this week why he voted the way he did last week - his budding romance with Francelina.  Hated to see her go, by the way.  I'd be happier if Gina would've gotten booted especially after this week's Kindergarten antics.  Please, lady, you are 47 years old an in a professional occupation and you can't handle Joe's comment and his presence?!  Get some thicker skin.  He (or the editing of his actions) seemed to genuinely be trying to make it up to her later with acts of kindness.

I was really impressed at how well Jackson and Jeff did on their own.  They did a great job of keeping each other motivated and loosing weight. Not sure why Jillian got so annoyed at Jackson during the weigh in. I thought it was great that he wanted to face the fear of being home and try to do it where he could get feedback. Am I missing something?

Artemis - 2013-02-26 1:50 AM. Am I missing something?

It was a risky move. However, they are the biggest guys, so they'll have an easier time losing at this point in the game. I don't think Danni and Gina would have put up as great of numbers if they went alone. (well, Danni is awesome and driven, so maybe)

I was NOT happy Gina won the challenge. I'm still ready for her to go. Like the above said, she's 47 years old. Get your stuff together.

I knew it would be Danni & Alex below the line after Jackson & Jeff weighed in. My heart sank! They would have voted Danni off in a second. So glad Danni pulled it off. Hope she gets immunity soon, she'll probably need it! That girl is on a roll, but the big numbers won't keep coming; she doesn't have that far to go.

Indifferent about Alex leaving, but she looked great at the home video segment. Good for her. Still don't really care for her, but I'm glad she is doing well.

Agreed.  I was worried for Jackson who put up an 11 at home and did great but this episode must have been over 2 weeks for everyone to have their "fears" addressed and camera and production time.  Not to mention the numbers they put up.

A COFFIN seriously WTF Jillian.  That's not fear of confined space that's a legit fear of being buried alive and having some psycho trainer put her in and hold it closed for 20 friggin minutes.  WTF?

Legit fear by Joe too.  Who isn't afraid of sharks?

The "man-cation" was fun to see them just being them.  Jeff went from being annoying to a pretty decent dude.

Next week is the at home, make over, temptation week.  It always seems to be a bit scummy the way they make them go out with their family/friends and the rest are drinking beer and eating pizza trying to tempt them.  Hopefully these guys go home and don't go to these places anymore.  Surely most friends are cool with this but it seems like the producers are telling them to tempt the contestant.   Not good.

I know a TON of lawyers and they can  all take a lawyer joke.  They have heard them all before and can usually just brush it off or come back with a witty comeback.  She seemed to be just looking for a reason to quit.  She sucks.

I hated that Danni lost the challenge. Ok, mostly I hated that Gina won the challenge… I love that she’s saying how awful she was and that from now on it’s going to be a brand new Gina. I’ll wait and see, but I’m thinking, “tigers:stripes, leopards: spots, old dogs:new tricks, etc.”

I still am not a big Jeff fan, but I liked that he stepped up the way he did. Not for nothing, but for any 25-year old straight guy to voluntarily agree to spend a week living in a house alone with a gay guy, even one he’s known for a while, shows a level of tolerance and maturity that one doesn’t always see in guys his age, or of any age, for that matter. So, good for him.

Didn’t really get what Jillian was so on about with Jackson, except that I think she has a low tolerance for martyrs and drama queens, and, Jackson’s insistence to the contrary notwithstanding, I think, and I think Jillian also thought, that’s largely what his “everybody vote for me” routine was all about.

Alex has been sort of a cipher for the whole show. She’s one of those contestants they seem to have every year who no one even notices until several weeks into it, and who manages to hang around for a while mostly because they don’t really bring anything, positive or negative to the table.

Sunny’s mom is a nightmare. She needs to get the heck off to college, far away, asap.

First time posting in the thread, but:

For the love of all things good is this world, Gina's got to Go!  I can't stand to listen to her voice, her mood swings, her self loathing junk.  She is a whiny brat that has to have her way all the time or she crumbles.  I've got to the point that when she speaks I have to fast forward because I really can't stand to listen to her, just shut up already.  Then you have the producers and Jillian making it worse with the whole coffin thing, what garbage.

She has been consistent... she hates anyone volunteering for anything... especially to help someone else. It's too risky.

I wanted Danni to win too. Seriously... I hope Gina does learn some stuff and find some happiness in her life... really... I'm just ready for her to go do that some place else. I have never heard any lawyer get bent over a lawyer joke... they usually have the best ones. She's just a drama queen.

So who the heck does not want Danni to win at this point??? Seriously nice lady, great attitude... even hard to believe she got herself into that position... and she is even a great singer.

Jackson is a nice kid too. Been really working hard. I like Joe too... he was an athlete before so you figure he has an edge... but he has been doing solid work, no drama.

I'm pretty sure that is all scripted and shot for the camera after the real shrink works on them. At best it is more "pop TV psychology". I assume they actually get real counseling... I hope.

Most trainers have to be able to get at the deeper issue with clients and these contestants need more than most.  Put it this way, some people are addicted to drugs, alcohol, ect these people are addicted to food and you need to get at why they are and  help them understand that and give them the tools to break that addiction.  It's pretty cheesy when the trainers play psychologist but I think it's really needed and it personalizes the contestants as well not just as people working out.

I agree, but shouldn't the trainers stick to training and maybe bring in some professionals (actual Psychologists) rather than Jillian trying to be one?

Granted, she's probably assisted her many clients into losing tons of weight and most everyone who has a drinking, anger or weight issue  has some sort of psychological issues (heck we all do), so she's done a fairly good job of identifying a root cause, but perhaps a trained professional could do a better job of dealing with the newly uncovered root of their issue and provide a better coping mechanism.  My $.02

That said, Gina is still the one I want to go next (Really, grow the heck up).  Danni & Jackson are my two favs, Danni's a machine and Jackson has a great personality.

It's a TV SHOW! What is shot for the camera, does not equal what really happened. I can promise you, anything uncovered in the first few weeks of a major life change... is the the top crust of the B.S. It's probably nothing they didn't already know. People in rehab love to grasp at "reasons" why they do the stupid crap they do... instead of the obvious ones like no personal responsibility and completely selfish and self centered. There may indeed be "reasons"... but don't ever mistake a reason, for an "excuse".

I would guess they probably do have someone with more creds talking to them about their issues.  However, Bob, Jillian and Dolvette are the face of the show and probably have more of a connection to them than some random therapist since they are the ones training them every day.  Like powerman said below this is a TV show so it's all a little staged for TV but we still tune in anyway.  I feel like an enabler.

I disagree. All of these people are morbidly obese because of a combination of psychological and physical factors. Jillian and the other traininers won't be able to effectively help them to change unless they get at both. For Jillian, Bob and Dolvett to focus simply on the physical aspect and to ignore the sometimes blatently obvious psychological reasons for their condition would be no more effective than a shrink helping the person deal with their mental issues without trying to get them to exercise. Part of what's made Jillian Bob and Dolvett so successful as trainers is being able to get people to recognize the triggers that cause them to eat, to stop exercizing, or otherwise to sabotage their own health. That doesn't mean they're qualified to counsel an abuse victim or provide pschiatric services to a person with bipolar disorder, but I think they've got enough experience with morbidly obese people that they can recognize how they got that way.

Eehhhh.... yes and no. We have no idea what goes on behind the scenes. Most "therapeutic" avenues involve individual counseling, group therapy, and some sort of support network... possibly. We see what the "face" of the show does in front of the camera... we have never been shown what "counseling" they receive by qualified individuals behind the scenes. I always wanted to assume it was extensive.... like any type of "rehab" or outpatient intensive care program. I hope it is.

Do I think the trainers are qualified to deal with obese people emotionally, mentally, and physically... absolutely. After a period of time you get quite knowledgeable. You get good at reading the BS, and they obviously can't be effective if they didn't actually care. But again... we only get what they want to show to the camera. The juicy, cured in 5 minutes, TV pop psychology stuff.

At the end of the day though... the solution is the same it always has been... don't take in more calories that you use.
