JoGo Challenge!
We are doing another JoGo Challenge.  Participation is optiona.  Joanne is our JoGo coordinator and she plans to post weekly updates.   Please post here or in your log when you get your "jogo" on.

JoGo description:  "the challenge is 30 days of 30+ minutes of anything that is mindfully active.  What do I mean by that?  It means that walking to the mailbox, like you do every day, does not count.  It has to be something that is off the couch (you can do something like yoga or walking even on a rest day) EVERY DAY!!!"  It's not too late to accept the challenge!

Good thoughts for Erin's mom who was recently hospitalized after she collapsed and blood clots were discovered in her lungs

CONGRATULATIONS KATE!

GO FELICIA!

GO STACEY!

GO JONATHAN!

GO TJ!

I'm trying to catch up on everything I missed. I hear there is some kind of challenge going on? Oh! I'm feeling a lot better. Some allergies, but that's because I'm around the cats again after a few days. My hips were fine the whole time I was gone even with all the walking. After one day home, it hurts. I think it's my mattress. Is that at all possible?

Abberlutely.

Supportive mattress, pillow that holds head in neutral position, and if on your side, pillow between the legs and possibly a boyfriend pillow between the arms. I have no idea what that's called in the States.

None of that's going to hurt (mattresses can be expensive unless they're futons), and if you're having problems, definitely worth a try.

Agree, a bad mattress can lead to all sorts of aches and pains.
I agree but rather then spending money on a new one and getting one that still makes no difference call the place that you stayed at your conference and ask them what sort of mattresses they have then your all set to know which one works for you. But be prepared to spend some $$$$.
$$$ is right. It was a Westin. I can buy it from Westin directly: http://www.westin-hotelsathome.com/productGroup.aspx?mattress-box-s...
That's not too bad a price really and it might get ridden as much as your new bike does which was more $$$ wasn't it?

lol...I can't wait to hear what Yanti and Salty say about that one.

It's not too bad.  I know that a good mattress is an investment.  I'm not sure my hubby would be totally on board with that one, though.  I think we may do better with a firmer mattress (for him) with foam on top (for me).  A compromise on what we each like.  It's tough to find one that works for two people!

It did not escape my notice

Futon with a memory foam pad?

Good.  I'd hate to think you were slipping.

DH hates futons.  I think I can convince him to get a memory foam pad for our current mattress and that should help until we can afford an entirely new one.

Oooh sounds like a good weekend!!!!!!

We are getting all dressed up and going to a dive bar to sing karaoke for my sister's birthday tomorrow. Also, heading out to our family property on the Hood Canal on Sunday.

Oh yeah, and trying to fit in training throughout.

Kayaking, sailing, barbequing, and running the Cotton Row 10K on Memorial Day.    And thinking about a couple of good friends and 239 fellow Marines  that did not survive our time in Beirut, in 1983.

Good luck racing Manatees!! And all you USA peeps have a great 3-day weekend!  For those elsewhere, uh, have a great 2-day??  Or heck, just take Monday off.

Got a HTFU swim in at lunch today.  58 degrees, raining, 30 mph gusting winds.  Lifeguard thought I was nuts.  At least the pool was heated so it wasn't too bad.  And I set a 300M pull PR! (probably from wanting get out of there ASAP!).

Oy, don't bark the poodles. There's a dude who mushes poodles in the Iditarod every year. They do pretty well!

I have a hard time picturing buff poodles.  Does not compute.

Looong day. My son's 6th bday is this weekend and today was last day of school, soooo... little party this afternoon. Amazing how a few boys running around makes for a chaotic few hours. Now I'm working up energy for gym :/

I'll make an attempt with pugs. How far do you suppose we'll make it?

A bulldog named Pebbles once won the 50m dash at the Canine Olympics. You never know.

Pugs aren't so good with cold, though.

I love sled dogs. They dog dry land mushing as a sport too. I think though my dogs would just lay there and look at me as if to say "what you want me to get up and pull you somewhere - chance".

So a little "factoid" for you:
They also do dog weight pulling competitions. The rules are that a dog has to pull as much weight as possible over 25 feet in under 60 seconds. The record of 5,220# is held by a St Bernard. That is nearly 2,370kg for us metric people. Just amazing my car can't even tow that much.

Standard Poodle

Siberian Husky

What most think of are likely Miniature or Toy poodles. Standard isn't huge, but bigger than thought.

I feel out of touch!  So  here is my news...

Friday night ran so def got my JoGo on (7km)

Saturday morning 1 hour+ with piglet Andrew.  Then this afternoon Piglet Andrew was babysitting his two nieces, 8 and 5 so he took them iceskating and we went too.  I took DH coz I thought me spending that much time with piglet Andrew would probably raise my own eyebrows...

This morning Scooby graduated from puppy school - only one slight test epic fail.  He had to drop (lie down) then stay then come to me 5 metres away.  Well he came but kept running becuase the next class had turned up in particular his love - the Neapolitan Mastiff.  Here's a pic of the size of this beast, Scooby is in love.

ACL tear, at least 6 months old. A little arthritis has settled into the injured area. Good news is his hips look great! Thanks for asking.
