So if you need someone and can't find it at the Ironman stores, head on over there. If your bike needs some fixing, ask for Dale! He just made my bike GORGEOUS. They are good peeps and not shady at all, despite being set up in the Alvin's parking lot. Apparently they've been doing this for years. Hi Jen, do you know if they will do full set-ups? thought of dropping off and picking up all together sounds nice right about now - will get in Wednesday and time is tight (and I am lazy). I'd b eternally gratefully if you could post or pm a company details or number - googling Dale & Panama City brought up some very undesirable suggestions This shop actually works out of Ft Walton. It's called Dragon Sports and it's in Fort Walton Beach, FL. They pretty much pack up most of the shop and "roadtrip" the hour to PCB and set up shop in the parking lot of the Alvin's closest to the race site. Google "Dragon Sports" in Fort Walton Beach, FL. Their phone number should come up. You could probably call them and ask if they would be willing to put your bike together for you in PCB. Some lady called "Blondie" usually answers the phone. Just ask for Dale or any mechanic. I think Dale said he was heading to PCB on Tuesday. I don't see why they wouldn't be willing to put your bike together for you...though I don't think they would store the case since they are literally working out of a parking lot/tent situation. |

Champion 19812 MA | Subject: RE: Ironman Florida : Official Thread Weather Underground has forecast temps for Saturday of 43 at 7 am, 12 mph wind from North 63 at 1 pm, 9 mph wind from North 56 at 7 pm, 8 mph wind from North Weather will be what it will be. I like to be prepared for all weather situation so bringing extra stuff. My last two IMs weather has sucked for me as it rained all days and 4 inches at Lake Placid and last year at Canada it was 95 and there were forest fires in area. |

My last two IMs weather has sucked for me as it rained all days and 4 inches at Lake Placid and last year at Canada it was 95 and there were forest fires in area. That sounds awesome to me! Just a little cooler than what I've had to train in the last few weeks. I was originally worried that I would lose my heat aclimation from the summer, and it would be hot in FL. I think it's easier to deal with cooler temps than you're used to than hotter ones. It could make for a fast race for everyone. Just make sure to adjust your hydration plan accordingly to avoid hyponatremia. |

Veteran 297 Kansas | Subject: RE: Ironman Florida : Official Thread I took Kathy G's advice and my suitcase is essentially filled with gallon ziploc bags, each marked of course for different segments of the race and day. My wife gave me a pretty hard time about this, I am a planner by nature but traveling for a race like this really kicked it up to a whole new level. I am glad I am not alone in these tendencies ... My bike is somewhere in transit from Kansas City to PCB, I wish those TriBike trucks had UPS tracking, curious where it is currently at ... Hang in there mentally everyone. |

I roll out from NC Wednesday morning with my training buddy who is racing (and his wife too, who is not). I've been assigned to bike handling Saturday, but I'm looking forward to spending a few days in PCB just hanging out. Taking my bike as well, and camping at a nearby campground, going "low-tech". I hope to see you all in transition and around the course. Good luck, rest well, and race safe! |
