There must have been something going on at home since both Mark and Chism didn't make their 5% loss.  Kim obviously had issues at home, and admitted it.  Everyone else pretty much blew away that 5% number with pounds to spare.  Makes me wonder if they were on top of their diets and workouts.  When they showed the clips of Chism working out at his gym at home, he didn't look all that motivated.  Also, not sure how much time he spent with his friends shooting pool or singing.  Can't blame him though...he's 19.  If anyone needs to make sure he keeps balance in his life, it's him.  He's still shaping into the person he's growing up to be.  He can't make his life 100% about weight loss.

I tried watching last night but I really can't get into it.  Very emotional last night with the kid going home and his father offering himself as a sacrifice.

Still can't stand Dolvett with his motivational style of speaking.  Bob FTW

I told my wife I didn't like Dolvett and I couldn't explain why.  I think you helped, he does sound a like a motivational speaker.

Ya, that. Not that he can't kick your butt. Most trainers can. Be he always wants to get touchy feely.

Bob cracks me up. He's evil... when he was explaining why he has the best job in the world getting to make people suffer...When "what's her name" was flopping on the ground hyperventilating after getting off the row machine... God that was funny. Ya Bob was prudent, but still funny. And I'm not making fun of her... I was pretty much doing the same thing after my 5' test on the trainer the other night. Laughing with her, not at her.

There are alot of people that could kick my but but that's not it.  It's just that Dolvett comes across as a little disingenuous.  I can't put my finger on it it's more of a show and it rubs me the wrong way enough to change the channel.  I like Jillian to a certain extent, being a hard 10/10 didn't hurt, but she grated on me with the constant yelling and the last few seasons she started the disingenuous heart to heart talks with the contestants.  I just didn't buy it.  The contestents last season were less than thrilling to watch and this season is no better.  I like the actual game so this show always seems to disappoint.  I'll stick with Survivor for my reality show fix.

I would bet they ALL dehydrated.  Mark, Chism, and Kim included.

That being said...I would also bet we're going to see a few 1-2 pound losses next week...if not some people gaining weight.

I've been rooting for Megan - she's cute.

Funny.  I said the same thing to my wife last night watching (DVR).  We have a thing where we watch and kinda call out in the beginning who we think will look the best when all is said and done.  I picked Megan... she definitely looks like she'll be attractive once all is said and done.

I'm not gonna say I'm glad that Chisim was sent packing, but he's been pretty much a disappointment in my eyes.  He's, what, 19 years old... was/is a very large guy, not sure what he started at.  But at this point in the game he's only lost 80 pounds?  Heck, Buddy who's more than twice his age has lost 109.  At his age and at his size going in, Chisim should be into the 100s as well, if not the biggest loser pound-wise on the ranch.

At first the way Chism was crying, I thought we'd hear a bunch of whining and such for being sent home.  I was thinking to myself, come on, don't be such a baby.  Then, after his dad finished his rant, Chism shocked me by actually 'manning-up', taking responsibility and reacting in a much more mature than expected manner.  I do wish this kid could have stayed on the ranch a bit longer.

I don't even want to hear the contestants whining about 'I don't have Bob' or 'I don't have a trainer' (for whatever reason) because ALL OF THEM just lost weight on their own, at home, and the majority made the immunity goals.

Wow, I felt really bad for Roy and Chris and the condition of their house and the lack of funds to fix stuff.  That was their primary residence, right?

Since I DVR-ed it, I fast-forwarded through Conda's post-weigh-in commentary.  Just hearing her voice, especially when she's all sobby and emotional sends me over the edge.  Funny thing is my husband was starting to tell me to FF past her right as I already started to! Ha!

Agree with all this. Wife and I did the same thing with Conda. Was intersting though they didnt show much of her when she was back home.

Roy/Chris - so he doesnt work at 62, and she has those 3 jobs? Seems a bit weird. Crazy condition of their house.

Cassandra - wowsers. 10 kids live in that house?

Chism/Mark - I think that had to have a big edit at the weigh-in. Mark went on and on about leaving the show and letting his son stay. Then a few seconds later, Mark and Chism were fine with Chism going.

I thought this was pretty funny.  Mark saying..."I don't care what it takes...make it happen!"

I really wanted Allison to respond back..."Umm...No"

Well and you have to think that is what happened when the cameras were turned off for a few minutes.

that was a huge about-face by Mark.

Agreed.  I was actually going to put that in my original post.

Megan seems to always look nice, in that you can see the pretty features in her face.  Emily, for me, has flashes.  When she all "prettyed-up", like at weigh ins, she looks nice and I say hmmm.  But other times she looks kinda plain.  Can't wait to see though... hopefully they both make it to make over week then we can get a pretty good look.

I spent the whole time barking at him via the TV... "uh no Mark, that's not the game"  "You wanna go with 'em... theirs the door." "Nobody's fault but his own, Mark, let him take it like a man"

Anyone want to speculate on what next week's "big twist" is?  I wonder if it's the rumored "walk off" we keep hearing about.

Also, I wonder if the two weeks at home was an attempt to give the contestants a longer period of time to lose weight so we would see bigger transformations at the finale.

<catty commentary>

I like Emily because she's strong (and pretty,  I agree) but her main problem is that she doesn't seem to have ever been thin.    I am not sure it's possible to be a thin person coming from her long background of being a big girl, weight lifting, etc.  Presumably she did what it took to add to bulk and where can that all go?  As much as I'd love to see her succeed, I can't imagine it.

I am glad I am not the only one to say this, but as cute as Megan is... she and her mom really are dim bulbs.  That severely diminishes my interest.

I really like Cassandra and she turned super hick when she went home!   She will really benefit from Hollywood taking an interest in her, dressing her, etc. I hope she stays in long enough to get to the makeover.

Conda is actually pretty, and has great hair, but her expressions and attitude really ruin it.  I have a hard time imagining her buckling down enough to achieve thin, too.   Ick.

I LOVED this episode! Got back to some of the true nature of the BL and what I like about it. Showed the challenges/temptations the people face on a day to day basis, no drama (well, minus the whole Savior complex Mark had..). I really enjoyed watching it.

Oh, and Buddy wins the show. Period. Even though he reminds me of Toby from The Office, I think he's the guy. Three times now he's had to go trainer-less and three times he has thrown down the gauntlet. The guy gets it. He's ready.

Was interesting to see the amount of power Emily's dad had over her emotions. She wants to make IM a goal but she could barely even get the words out in front of him for fear of embarrassment. Hope whatever happens in the show that she manages to get her own two feet under her and start doing what she wants to do for her rather than trying to make daddy proud.

Mark sure swears a lot for a youth pastor...

Yeah, it was incredible how Emily's dad fell right back into sounding like her coach.  I'm hoping it wasn't just a "made for TV moment" where he told her that he would support whatever she wants to do.  But kids often don't have perspective when they are doing some sport that their parents got them into.  Many parents realize that it's only a temporary thing and that their kid will have other dreams and do other things later.  I think Emily didn't realize her dad could see that weightlifting wasn't her future.  Not sure if I'm explaining myself well, but I think Emily was more scared than she needed to be.  I'm surprised she couldn't just tell her dad, "This was fun but this is what I'm into now."

However, that interview was awful and that HAIR in her interview was awful.  She needed makeover week bad!!!!!

Back to singles next week!  Unfortunately that means Chris might keep hanging around because no one sees her as a threat.

Anyone else think Chris was fortelling marital issues when she said she really didn't start living until Roy went home?  She's pretty psycho....and Emily too...before anyone weighs in she says they won't lose enough, then she's in tears thinking she wont lose enough (she lost the most), then she's in tears because she's afraid for Cassandra during the weigh in, then she's in tears when she thinks they will send Cassandra home when they're all sitting around talking.....HELLO, almost ALL of you will go home at some point...change your thinking to "When I go home, these are the things I need to do and these are the things I need to change..."

Haha, my wife and I couldn't stop staring at and talking about that awful hair!  We had no idea what was said during the interview b/c we were so captivated by that monstrosity!  Her hair looked fine when talking to the camera but that was just one horrible angle.

Cassandra really struggles with fashion sense.   I bet living in NYC and possibly working at Conde Nast will resolve that.   Maybe she'll find herself on the elevator with Anna Wintour* who will surely set her straight.
