jdivine1990 - 2013-03-03 11:47 PM Well I'm glad you all aren't planning on using the change tent. That'll leave more room for me. I'll take the extra five minutes to change in order to be comfortable for the next six-seven hours.

I'm planning on using T2 to do a full change for sure. But in T1 I'll just throw on a jersey over what I'm swimming in.

Kenb-great job!

I rode with a new group of guys on Saturday and I loved it.  I live at the beach and so my rides are typically flat, but these guys took me inland and made me push really hard on some long hills.  Loved it!

21 weeks to go...

Thread has been quiet...I need some chatter.  Maybe it will help me find my motivation.  It seems to be hiding from me.

I have to do a 1:45 min run tonight, and I am supposed to keep my heart rate in zone 1-2, you would think by now I would know this answer , but for those of you who do know your different heart rate zones, what's the method you used?

Based on the chart below, I think of running at 1-2 the only type of running I enjoy    It is easiest to keep it at this level if you bring a friend.  Then I talk and laugh.  If I find I cannot talk or laugh I slow down.

Have an 8 mile run this afternoon (recovery week!) and 1:30 spin tomorrow morning.  Of course, we are supposed to get 14" of snow tomorrow, so that will be a trainer ride.

Now if I could just keep from getting sick or injured, yet again...

Need to go swim right now, but it is freezing (well for a So. Cal girl it is freezing) outside.  Was hailing a little bit ago.  Now just cold rain, but it is hard to get in the pool when I know I can't take a long hot shower after I swim because I have to teach right afterwards.  I know, I know, just shut up and get it done...  Yell

I don't know how all of you in "real" cold climates do it!

Where does the time go?.. Cannot believe it is now sub 20 weeks until the day. I have had a good weeks training this week, pretty much got all my workouts in.

TriguyBri, thank you for the inspire message, never knew about that function but it was very kind of you and every bit helps, cheers.

I'll be honest some of the posts scare me on here, how much so many of you seem to be doing seems to be so much more than I, it freaks me out. I have not even begun thinking about what kind of plan I will aim for on race day reference changing and whatnot, damn that scares me too! (Am I just a big scardy cat!??.. haha)

Everyone on here though is inspirational and it is really quite an undertaking. I'm single so those of you juggling work, relationships and a family are incredible. I do not know how you manage it but muchas kudos to you all.

I may not post as often as I wish I could but I am learning so much constantly from everyone, so again thank you. Please keep the chat and posts going, I'm sure they help many of us.

Donwah you are welcome. I like getting inspires they do really help. I didn'thave the training week that I would have liked to have, but it is what it is. I missed two swims, a run and came up short on my first outside ride. I rode with someone else and time became an issue. I have a very busy week this coming week. So tomorrow will not be a day off. I'll take tuesday off. I have a Tri Club Meeting. It is our annual Kickoff Meeting with lots of raffle prizes. Last year I came away with a pair of socks. : ( I am hoping for something bigger this year. Have a grfeat week everyone.

A really good week of training last week.  Recovery week this week which is good since I am fighting a cold and traveling mid week to Sunday for work.

Keep up the great work, everyone!

20 WEEKS LEFT!!! Oh my! Oh my!  I am switching to the free beginner full ironman training plan on this website.  I used the beginner 1/2 IM when I did Oceanside two years ago and I felt pretty prepared on race day.  The plan I have been using so far isn't detailed enough and I think that allows me to get a bit lazy.  So...here we go!

Yup I "officially" start training today (even though for my last IM I didn't start till 16 weeks out).

I applaud those of you who are already cranking out 2 hour runs and 3-4-5 hour rides! Personally I would burn out too soon but I think some of you said you were training for early HIMs if I recall?

Train smart and safe, friends! Cool

I am repeating week 13 over. Wasn'twhat I wanted for a training week. I have 3 extra weeks so instead of a 30 week plan I set mine up for 33 weeks. I have a few races I wanted to compete in so I gave some extra time. I may only do one race prior to Vineman; an olympic. Races are getting to darn expensive. I may do one supported long century ride as well as a metric century.

I agree with Lisa.  Some of your logs show you guys are beasts!  Awesome training so far!  Brian, I hear ya about the race costs.  Wish it wasn't so expensive   I am only doing one small sprint tri between now and Vineman.

Have a great day everyone!  Get out there and get it done!

Ain't that the truth.

I've done Kansas 70.3 every year it's been around - 5 years in a row. I really wanted to be one of those people who did the race every year until the end of time. But the $250 price tag (+ gas + lodging) has me at a pause right now. I might not race at all, besides a few 10Ks, between now and Vineman.

The races are expensive.  As of now, Vineman is my first tri race of the season.  The actual cost of the race, travel (auto or flight), car rental, hotel, and food.  It really does add up.  I have cut back on the number of races due to the cost.  At lease I love training as much as racing.  :-)

Finally got my butt oiut of bed this morning for a 45 min bike on trainer and a quick and short transition run.  Hoping tomorrow morning is the same for a bike on trainer.  Going to my son's music concert tonight and then it is off to the pool for a late swim workout.  OMG....

I'm not doing Full Vineman, but I came in here to say I am insanely jealous of y'all!  I just visited wine country a week ago and I LOVED it.  I now have Vineman on my "absolutely must do" list....
