Check out that badazz cake! Also, notice the color of my face? NO that's not an instragram filter! That is what it looks like when you are irresponsible and ride 20+ miles outside without suncreen. Idiot. Eek. That was the first thing I noticed--your face is the same color as the chips bag!! That is a pretty cool cake though! Remind me to wear sunscreen for the ride we do together Yes, I am making a huge assumption it will be sunny that day. I was thinking of that! And yes, I will be praying for sun. I do not love riding in the rain... Meeee neither. And the only we will be able to stay motivated/warm in the rain will be to drink more beer, so ... |

So coz we were all so worried we lost him he got away with the shoe thing and welcomed home like a long lost son. Geez, he's more bother than a kid! |

Makes me thankful that I am not a beta tester.Actually, I like the look of the new site, there are just some pieces that may need some attention. I believe they've really put some effort into it, and it does have a ways to go, but I think the direction is good. And they are getting some valuable feedback. It is funny that some user end stuff that we find important is overlooked by developers, or not deemed important. We struggle with this type of thing all the time with our IT department. I have been on both sides of the SDLC, so I can understand the struggle. |

Expert 1452 Troy, MI | Subject: RE: Mad Mutant Manatee Mentors 4--CLOSED I posted this long 21 mile story of Big Sur and when I submitted it it disappeared. BT frustrates me!!! I had an amazing time. Met amazing people. The course is not only beautiful, it is transforming. I watched the BAA race director (with whom I became friends and that was a whole long story) who was representing Boston go from being sad and defeated to renewed. It was beautiful. There were so many Boston 2 Big Sur transformation stories. It is a spiritual course. I can't explain it. The 21 miler was so relaxed and wonderful. We even started off with 40 minutes of pre-race yoga at the oceanside, at dawn, to start the race and stay warm. Just an amazing experience. I don't recommend my couch potato to 21 mile training plan (I have run less than 50 miles total in the past year) but I wouldn't have missed this for the world. Luckily I have enough fitness that I didn't die on the course and could enjoy without suffering. Momo helping me pack, and wanting to go with me. Pre-Race Yoga to get one with the Earth. Only in California. Ready to go. All Oooooommmmmed up. One of the climbs ahead
I got Chariots of Fire to serenade me down the hill this year. Last year was The Rose.
My roomie and I with our medals.

Guess I'm adding Big Sur to the bucket list ;-) If you do one marathon in your lifetime, this should be the one!!! Not a PR course for most (although I did get my marathon PR there last year) but definitely a course to be EXPERIENCED and felt. Toughest course I've ever run. The camber in the road is a hip, back, and knee killer. "Pain only hurts" |
