I have to say that I am not sure which I feel more: a) sorry that you will not be able to do your run because of the snow, or b) jealous of the beautiful backyard and view you have. It is gorgeous. Have a nice weekend. |

Champion 9060![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Charlottesville, Virginia | Subject: RE: SWBKRUN -CLOSED DUE TO TRAININGDoug or anyone else that has a shop at home, I'm looking for advice on organizing mine. I have a couple big toolboxes and getting a few more this weekend, I have a big table to work on and a bike stand for bikes I'm putting up a peg board for holding most of my bike specific tools. I have tons of bike parts, not a lot of any one thing other than tires but lots and lots of different parts and besides throwing them all into a bin, I'm having a hard time trying to figure out how to organize anything. We've got 8 or 9 bikes also I'm trying to figure out how to efficiently store, I'm thinking about building something on wheels so I can move it around when I need to get to something behind them. The ceilings pretty low so can't do anything where I mount them on the wall or ceiling. |

What tools that take up any floor space? What besides bike work will you be doing? Mobile stuff is a great alternative. With more information I can give more suggestions. This will be fun for you! |

Yeah...jealous!! Hoped to have a few more ski days this year but we had a bunch of rain this week so not sure it is going to work. Need to decide if we want to go tomorrow for a last day of crappy skiing or just write it off and move on. Suzy - you should strap on some xcountry skis and get out there!

Regular 459![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() | Subject: RE: SWBKRUN -CLOSED DUE TO TRAININGSo, I did something to mess up my ankle earlier this week. I don't want to call it an injury, because I don't think it quite is. It was a bit sore on Tuesday, and I did a fartlek run anyways. Then it clearly told me that was a stupid move. I've done nothing but swim since then. Today, it's feeling alright, so I think I might be able to pull off an easy run. Just debating whether to go outside or on the treadmill. Going outside probably means running in some areas with packed snow, so it's a bit less even. Does anyone else get foot cramps while swimming? I've had a problem with them periodically for about 6 months. Usually towards the end of a workout though. Last night, my foot started seizing up on me within the first 100 metres. I don't think it's a hydration thing, since I've really focused on that to try to eliminate this. Any suggestions? |

I get them now and again -- seems to happen more often when I'm out of swim shape, but not exclusively. I just try to flex my toes the other way while I'm swimming. If it's really bad maybe stop and bend the toes back a bit. Mine are short-lived... |

Extreme Veteran 668![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() NW Georgia | Subject: RE: SWBKRUN -CLOSED DUE TO TRAININGAll is well here; thanks for checking on us last night, John. We were sitting in a restaurant having dinner while the tornado rolled through the city just a few miles north of us. Strangely enough, there was no rain and no wind to speak of where we were. We didn't get any rain at the restaurant or at home until much later last night. We had no idea anything was even happening until people started calling and texting. There is a lot of damage in Dallas and in our county, but no one was injured here. I am certainly thankful for that, but it is a bit disconcerting that it came so close to us and we had no idea and no warning. As a sidenote, during my run earlier in the evening, I was listening to an Andy Stanley podcast where he talked about humans and nature, and how nature is inherently violent. |

Subject: RE: SWBKRUN -CLOSED DUE TO TRAININGGlad you guys are okay down there. I missed the whole thing since I was in DC for meetings, but the flight home last night was a bit of a roller coaster. When we stopped at the gate in Indy, I thought the plane was still taxiing because it was rocking back and forth from the wind. It was stormy in our neck of the woods, but no tornados, so all is well at home. Give your loved ones extra hugs today! |

Saw Linda (Havin'Fun) and her husband there. Unfortunatrly by the time we got home my back was hurting me. So the long run that was planned for today never got done. Oh well, I got 2 days off in a row. So why do I feel so achy? Lots of riding tomorrow!
