And about 37 minutes on the run. Thanks!

You've been getting something in very consistently, so you're going to be ok come race day. Remember to try to stay loose, take it easy on the pacing, and keep going forward. It's likely to get tough late in the race, but that happens to everything. Keep going and you'll get there. Don't worry about trying to be perfect, just go for mostly right with things. For me it's noticeably easier mentally as I'll relax some, it never goes perfectly anyway. Roll with anything that comes up and keep going.

The weather was just above freezing yesterday, so I took advantage.  Since I can't run I actually haven't done an outdoor workout in almost 3 weeks.  Got in a bit of a chilly 2.5 hr ride yesterday.

Way to get out there Neil! it might be cold, but that road looks pretty darn good all things considered.

The HM this weekend was an absolute blast even with because of the wet, cold and extremely muddy conditions. I somehow managed to squeak out an AG 2nd. I think mostly because I used Salty's technique of getting sick a few days before...

Rode the course this morning then helped sweep it up some.  Our team is hosting the race.  Going to help out with packet pickup later today.

It was really interesting though because the road was extremely busy to vehicle traffic for some reason.  Normally it's a pretty empty road out to nowhere, but we realized that they were having a Warrior Dash out there today.  So tomorrow should be much more melow.  Another crazy thing is that as we were coming back from sweeping the turnaround, someone had hit a telephone pole and knocked it over.  Nobody looked hurt, but since it is the only road that goes back there with no cross streets, traffic started backin up for miles.  Luckily we were going the opposite direction from all the Warrior Dash traffic.

Jason - I hope it went well and cannot wait to read all about it. And thanks everyone for the TT discussion - I am considering signing up for our regional series - 3 races, 1x25k followed by 2x40k's spread over 4 months. Just gotta work through how it fits with my training schedule. I could probably use it, as the last one I did (last year) I kind of stunk up. I think IM training has robbed me of the ability to suffer on the bike like I used to, quite honestly. I would like to get a little bit of that back this year.

There is a local club that does a weekly 15km TT and the occasional 40km. I plan to sign up. It gives a good weekly threshold workout and opportunity to test position and aero.

We have one(!) TT all year and it is the mother's day weekend.  I wish we had more.  The closest ones other than that are about a 2 hour drive away.

Aw man, Arend - it really sucks that you are going to have to miss celebrating Mother's Day this year. I am sure everyone involved will understand...

No, no, I just show up all sweaty and covered in road grime.  They consider it normal now.

Masters swim tonight, just over 4,000 yds total. The last 1500 included 9 x 100 sprints on 2:00. I came in right on 1:14 for the first 6 and fell off the last 3, but still under 1:20. Can't remember actually hitting that before, let alone that many. One of those days that OMG it hurt, but also felt great. Thinking I need to keep on it with threshold workouts and what volume I can fit to be able to hold onto that better.

Ben - great job! Holding sub 1:15 on that many intervals is fantastic. Hard work pays off!

Nice work at the races fellas!

We got 47 inches of snow in february!!  Yesterday was my first run on dry pavement this month I think.

Body is beat down from training last week.  Really need to pay better attention to recovery and eating to make sure I can handle the current load.  The weekend workouts my legs were completely dead!

Great job at the races guys!

I am full blown sick so I have taken 2 days off in a row from workouts. I rarely do that, and I probably could have done something because it's just a head cold, but I was lazy. It's been a rough 4 weeks since my foot surgery but I'm ready to rally after this bout of sickness

That's annoying but it seems that there is no better time (IE post foot surgery) to be sick and take a few days.

Hang in there. I'm sure you are right and you'll totally rally Smile

Bummer that you're sick.  I won't pretend that I know what foot surgery is like, but I've probably taken more days off in the past 4 weeks than I have for most of last year.  Most of it because I was sick, but a couple of days due to sheer laziness (which is extremely rare for me).  But sometimes that's just what we need.  You don't appreciate the good times unless you go through some rough times.  Just make sure to get back on the saddle when the time is right and come back strong.

It was your cue to start an interval and try to beat the train across the tracks.    JK...don't do that.
