My race is in 3 weeks and I'm starting to feel really shaky mentally.  How do you all cope with stuff like this?

Mary, Keep in mind all of the training you have done up to now. All of the positive results that you have seen. All of the days where you worked harder, stronger, longer and more than you ever did in the past. Take a look at all that has led up to this point and I'm sure all the positives that you see will push anything else out of your mind. Then focus on the race. Visualize everything going well, from swim to transition to bike to transition to run. Mentally run through the controllables like transition setup, cleanly getting on the bike, swimming calmly, etc.

Be prepared, take mental notes along the way, and above all else, HAVE FUN!!!!

Great job, Kirsten!!!!!!!!!!!! I was in the desert playing hockey all weekend and couldn't track but I certainly was thinking of you!!!

Can't wait to hear more about it!

We won the hockey tourney! I am so sore today. So, so sore.

* I spelled desert dessert originally. I have my priorities straight...

Hockey and dessert makes more sense than hockey and desert... although we did have a team in NM! Congrats on the win! Now rest up and have dessert

I think my run this morning should have been a "swim". The temperature was a mild 85* F at 4:30 am, cloudy day and 75% humidity. I am looking forward to days with only 20-30% humidity. You would think more stuff would grow here with that much humidity.

I hope everyone had a great weekend and great races.

85* with 75% humidity at 4:30 a.m.?!  Yikes.  Can't even imagine how awful that'll be once the sun comes up.

I'm supposed to do a run after today but we're having tornado warnings.  I may have to switch up my workout to avoid my run being a "suck."

Hi... Um... can I come back??  Pretty please?

I know I've been seriously MIA lately, and I'm really sorry for that.  I really have no good excuse either... it's been quite the bumpy ride so far, and it's not over yet - I'm hoping it will get better though.

I've missed you guys.

Thanks Jo!  Is it weird that it makes me feel a tad better to know I'm not the only one who's been MIA lately?   I hope being crazy busy isn't keeping you from your stalking duties though...

If that wasn't already given to me, I would have definitely gone with Yanti's Kirstiron!

The Manatees are like the Hotel California - you can check out anytime you want, but you can never leave

. Welcome back to the safe, non-bumpy place!!

Monica so glad to see you. It hasn't been the same with you gone.

I totally understand the Manatee thing. It always makes the day better to read the Manatees night time antics over breakfast. And then if that doesn't make you feel good enough go for a drive in that cute little car of yours (no there is no euphemism intended there).

Smile and remember that we love you. I'm sure that things will get better once you get a bit more settled.

Find a mentor. Make a list of at least three people that you could approach for help, list your specific needs and then be courageous enough to begin asking.
