I'm only run/walking a little over a mile at a time right now, but will have to figure something out as I start running longer distances. The neighbors don't take kindly to dogs squatting on their lawns; can't imagine how they'd react to a person! Please excuse the feeble attempts at humor. I'm really tired and feeling a little punchy. Now's about the time DH starts saying, "Yes, dear," then suggesting that I maybe go to bed early. First little run in 10 days. Toe did okay. A bit sore, but no pain Most horrible thing happened! The trusted 3mi porto is gone!!! No no no bueno. Only did 3.6 and last mile was 75% walking. Guess it's time to re-route. Be careful about that! Don't be like this SF runner! Well, that's a crappy way to behave! dun dun chhhhh! I dunno, I have seen someone sh*t their pants in front of me in a race. When you gotta go you gotta go! I agree. But this guys yard EVERY weekend? That's a little weird... She is VERY regular At some point it becomes time to change your running schedule. Or time it so you are near your OWN yard! :D |

Master 3870 | Subject: RE: Manatee Mentors 2014--CLOSED (begging & bribes MAY work) Well, it seems a sick sitter was just the first issue to derail tomorrow's ride. DH has been moving parts over to his new Felt F4 frame. He needed a new derailleur and ordered one to be here today. Surprise! Performance had a server issue and didn't get his order in before shipping deadline. Not here til Monday. And to complete the trifecta... Taylor took his first major bike crash. Face planted into some rocks: bloody nose, fat lips, and loose front teeth. All you bike riders can empathize with him today. See pic for gory details.
Silver lining...on one weekend, not spread over three :D Edited by 4agoodlife 2014-03-29 9:17 AM Attachments ---------------- IMG_37386041722473.jpeg (50KB - 14 downloads) |

Master 6834 Englewood, Florida | Subject: RE: Manatee Mentors 2014--CLOSED (begging & bribes MAY work) A couple of thoughts to start the weekend. Erin, I hope Taylor heals up soon. He has moved from a rider who will crash to one who HAS crashed. I hope he keeps riding. Salty and Ann-Marie, I hope you race well and have fun. Enjoy every moment. Mary, you may want to check out DC Rainmaker's blog before picking out a watch. He is currently looking at the new Garmin Fenix series. So many different ones are available, it'll make someone's head spin. Heal up my injured friends! |

Some of our guys raced a hilly HM over the weekend as a tuneup (One of them won, with 108:30) but notably, Ari ran with Aaron tethered to him. Aaron is legally blind (oh, and a triathlete gunnin' for Rio '16) Together they finished 12/13 at 1:16:51 d PS I apologize for jacking this photo
Woo hoo! Competition for Yanti's team :-) Awwww yeah tell those guys they're awesome ... and also thank them 'cause I was afraid my boys would just smashingly dominate and put everyone else to shame, kinda embarrassing. It's on! |

Member 2689 Denver, CO | Subject: RE: Manatee Mentors 2014--CLOSED (begging & bribes MAY work) Eek! I just signed up for 2 races! One's a training run (1.5 miles) in 3 weeks, and the other is a sprint tri on 8/17. They sound so puny compared to what a lot of you do but this is a huge step for me and I wanted to share it with my fellow Manatees. I signed up for a sprint tri in 2011, but never did it because I got hurt. I've had a bit of a setback lately due to increasing my training to 6 days a week but I'm still determined to do a tri. I'm going to keep up the 6 days a week approach, just dial back on the intensity of the workouts for now (a few more pulling laps, lower gears on the bike, no dog on the walk/runs) until the pain settles down a little. Plus I'm getting a sports massage after my swim tomorrow. Yay!! |

I've just been looking through your log, and from what it seems, you should be ok on the swim and bike legs, it's the run that you're gonna have to build on. Plenty of time though Ps. Love the reward scheme you have going. Perhaps I should adopt something like that. It used to be " well, I've gone X months without smoking, and I would have spent £y.00, therefore, I am allowed to spend £z.00 on moi. Maybe I should start rewarding consistency instead. |
