First podium finish!!

Master  2571    Tiger's Den |  Subject: First podium finish!!It seems that IM training and subsequent tapering is good for OLY distance events! I got my first podium finish today in an OLY race. I was tickled to death to take 3rd. And the best part: I PRed the course by over 15 minutes in 95 degree heat(2:48:17 or 18 vs 3:03:49). Apparently having a coach, logging in the time and the miles, and riding aero in the big chain ring works wonders.

And I have to give props to Barqhead. She was racing Mooseman on the same day. Had she been in SC racing with me I would have been 4th. But I still have the cheesy smile on my face! Will try to get the RR done today and will download pics tonight maybe. |

We didn't get medals- they gave us sweat vac visors with Festival of Flowers Triathlon embroidered on them and 1st place, 2nd place, or 3rd place (whichever you were) embroidered on the side. I wore it all day yesterday. Wanted to wear it to work but it's not office casual. |
